CAD Detailer Job DescriptionRiggs Companies is an employee-owned commercial concrete contractor based in Phoenix, AZ. Over the last thirty years, we have grown into one of the largest concrete contractors in the Southwest, built on a reputation for quality work, strong relationships, and a team that takes great pride in everything we build.Riggs is seeking a CAD Detailer to support our project teams and field crews. Detailers draft every phase of concrete scope, translating construction drawings into clear, accurate, more practical field-use drawings our field crews can depend on.The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically skilled, and confident reading and interpreting construction drawings. This role operates in a fast-paced environment where accuracy and turnaround time matter. Success requires the ability to manage multiple projects, stay organized, and consistently meet deadlines. At Riggs, there is strong opportunity for growth, with exposure to a wide range of projects and the chance to take on increasing responsibility as your skills develop.Key ResponsibilitiesCreate accurate 2D AutoCAD drawings from construction documents, sketches, and field markupsDevelop practical field-use drawings that support concrete construction operationsCoordinate drawings with project managers, field teams, subcontractors, and other tradesManage multiple projects and revisions while meeting deadlinesAssist with RFIs, submittals, and drawing coordinationSupport project planning through 3D modeling and BIM coordination when neededMaintain detailing quality, accuracy, and drafting standardsContinuously improve technical knowledge, efficiency, and detailing standards.Required QualificationsProficiency in AutoCAD required, either by formal education or experience.Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.Strong problem-solving, organizational, communication, and time management skills.Eagerness to learn with a willingness to continually improve on knowledge, quality, accuracy, and timeliness.Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities and deadlines.High School Diploma or GED.Preferred QualificationsProficiency with BIM, Navisworks, and/or Revit.Entry-level candidates with relevant AutoCAD training are encouraged to apply.Bachelor’s degree.Familiarity with structural and architectural construction plans.General understanding of tilt-up and/or cast-in-place concrete construction.This is a full-time, in-person, salaried position. Salary is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
