Job DescriptionShipper ILocation: Fife, WAShift: Day ShiftStarting Pay: $23/hourMilgard Windows and Doors is hiring a Shipper I in Fife, WA. In this role, you will be responsible for building crates and protective enclosures used to ship windows, doors, and other large or irregularly shaped products. This position requires experience reading shipping notices and specifications, inspecting products, and determining appropriate materials, supports, and bracing to ensure safe transport.Key ResponsibilitiesLay out dimensions on materials using rulers, measuring tape, and pencilsCut materials to size using saws and other toolsAssemble wood materials and shipping containersSafely place products into containers or cratesBolt heavy pieces to container bottoms or skids as requiredBuild enclosures around large or odd‑shaped productsAttach identification labels or stencils indicating destination, weight, and product typeCount and verify items to ensure compliance with shipping ordersComplete required shipping paperworkMeet daily production requirements and delivery schedulesMinimize waste in accordance with employee MPS commitmentsMaintain a clean and hazard‑free work areaInspect, maintain, and report issues with equipment and toolsFollow safe work practices to ensure a safe working environmentRead and understand product information tags to ensure all specifications and options are metQualificationsPrevious experience in a similar environment handling finished goods of varying sizesAbility to lift up to 50 pounds unassistedHigh school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experienceAbility to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memosAbility to write simple correspondenceAbility to communicate effectively in one‑on‑one and small group settingsBasic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimalsAbility to calculate rates, ratios, percentages, and interpret basic graphsWhat We OfferOur benefits package includes coverage of your health, wealth, and wellness for you and your eligible spouse/dependents.
