Shop TechnicianThe Shop Technician will be responsible for operations within our local remanufacturing and service facility, navigating diverse situations to produce a wide range of products. Key duties include increasingly complex assembly of equipment including top drives, iron roughnecks, frac/mud pumps, electric/hydraulic systems, and related oilfield equipment. This position will work under the direction of the Shop Manager. This position is located in Springtown, TX and will work a Monday - Friday schedule. No housing or relocation is offered.Job RequirementsAbility to safely navigate drilling work sites & Shops with occasional walking, climbing, standing, stepping, etc. during normal operating conditions (day/night, outdoor hot/cold weather)Lift and carry 50 pounds independently while walking on uneven surfacesBend, stoop, kneel, twist, and crawl occasionally during visits to field and operational work areasFrequent use a variety of hand and power tools to perform a range of mechanically oriented functions including independent use of heavy-duty handheld and long-handled toolsClear vision to judge near and far distances to maintain awareness of, watch, and report ongoing work activities to coworkers and third partiesListen for unusual noises that signify equipment and machinery problemsMaintain spatial orientation and awareness to safely move around work environment with many moving objectsStay alert and focused including during occasional extended work periodsWear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all designated timesDemonstrate clear communication skills including ability to read, write and speak in English as well as understand with the ability to promptly give, and follow, directions when working with othersStrong organizational skillsElectrical, hydraulic, mechanical aptitude and ability to read and follow schematics & assembly drawings to build, disassemble, trouble shoot & repair equipmentUtilize a computer and software for communication, reporting and data acquisitionMinimum Qualifications:All levels:High School Diploma or GED or equivalent educationAssistant Technician:High school graduate or General Education Degree (GED)Technician I:2 + years Shop or Industrial Equipment maintenance experience or equivalentOr 1 + years' relevant oil and gas work experience in a maintenance, manufacturing, remanufacturing, repair, or field service environment of Industrial equipment.Technician II:3 + years Shop or Industrial Equipment maintenance experience or equivalentOr 2 + years' relevant oil and gas work experience in a maintenance, manufacturing, remanufacturing, repair, or field service environment of Industrial equipment.Senior Technician:7 + years Shop or Industrial Equipment maintenance experience or equivalentOr 5 + years' relevant oil and gas work experience in a maintenance, manufacturing, remanufacturing, repair, or field service environment of Industrial equipment.State-issued driver's license and be eligible to drive a Company vehicle, including ability to meet requirements of Company's Vehicle Use Agreement and Driving PolicyPreferred Qualifications:Vocational or technical training: Millwright, Journeyman Mechanic or Electrician or Hydraulics certificate or Trade School DegreeOil & Gas equipment assembly, teardown, installation, rig up /down experience & troubleshooting of:Warrior equipment, Top Drives, Mud Pumps, Iron Roughnecks, Automated Catwalks, Power EndWorking knowledge of ERP systems (purchasing/inventory/sales/work order management software)Additional Details:The Shop Tech must work with an emphasis on safety for themselves and others including coworkers and third parties. The typical work environment will be in the shop or field which will require exposure to outdoor weather conditions, loud noise, working near moving mechanical parts, electrical energy, construction equipment, vibration, fumes, chemicals and airborne particles.
