As a Data Center Facilities Engineer your responsibilities will be:
Assisting with wiring and racking of equipment.
Performing quality tests and troubleshooting hardware issues to maintain critical equipment operations.
Supporting capacity planning for electrical and mechanical systems.
Scheduling and tracking hardware maintenance.
Reviewing and creating operational procedures.
Providing technical support and updating port maps and rack layouts.
Identifying and resolving reliability issues.
Assisting the Data Center Manager with assigned projects.
Providing support for project proposals and customer interfaces.
Preparing, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring assigned projects, including:
CAB preparations and implementation.
MOP preparations and execution.
Equipment maintenance supervision.
Interacting with clients daily to understand and implement their needs in the field.
Supporting compliance with audits.
Reviewing engineering deliverables and initiating corrective actions as needed.
Cooperating and communicating effectively with internal and external clients on project matters.
Handling administrative responsibilities in the absence of the manager due to travel or vacations.
Supporting the maintenance of critical infrastructure equipment.
Being available for travel outside Puerto Rico and working outside regular business hours, including weekends.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
What you should bring:
A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, EIT, or PE is preferable. At least one year of working experience in the Engineering department as a Facilities Engineer or a similar position is required. Engineering work experience (project planning, electrical and mechanical equipment installation maintenance) is also preferred.
Data center environment experience is preferable but optional.
KONWLEDGE AND SKILLS
You can make a difference if you have:
Analytical and troubleshooting skills
A solid understanding of network and data cabling
Good verbal and written communication skills (Spanish and English)
Overall knowledge of the operation and maintenance of all electrical, mechanical, and HVAC equipment within a data center.
Computer skills using MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
·AutoCAD is a plus.
Knowledge of high and low-voltage wiring, capable of identifying and qualifying single-phase as well as three-phase power requirements.
Organizational skills - keeping track of data and documenting processes.
Intermediate proficiency in English.
