Python Backend Engineer (AI Systems)Chicago (Hybrid/On-Site) OR Atlanta, GA (Hybrid/On-Site)We’re hiring a backend engineer who has actually worked on systems that support AI — not just taken a course or played with APIs.This role is focused on building production-grade Python services that power AI-driven workflows, integrations, and data pipelines.If you’ve worked on real backend systems and have started integrating AI (LLMs, vector search, etc.) into applications, this is the kind of role we should talk about.What You’ll Be Doing• Building backend services using Python (FastAPI or Flask)• Designing APIs and handling async workflows at scale• Integrating with enterprise systems (internal + third-party APIs)• Developing and maintaining data pipelines• Deploying and supporting services in cloud environments• Working with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code• Implementing authentication and secure service-to-service communication• Monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issues end-to-endWhat Actually Matters for This Role• Strong Python backend experience (not scripting — real services)• Experience building and scaling APIs• Comfort working across cloud, data, and application layers• Experience integrating external systems or APIs• Hands-on with Docker and modern deployment practices• Ability to debug across systems, not just codeStrong Plus• Experience working with LLMs or AI-enabled applications• Kubernetes or container orchestration• Data pipeline or document processing experienceTech EnvironmentPython, FastAPI/Flask, cloud platforms, Docker, CI/CD, APIs, OAuth, and modern observability tools.LocationChicago (Hybrid/On-Site) OR Atlanta, GA (Hybrid/On-Site)
