Brake Performance Engineer

Our client, an industry leader in automotive innovation, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Brake Performance Engineer to join their dynamic team. As a Brake Performance Engineer, you will be an integral part of the vehicle development department supporting the engineering and testing teams. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills, proactive problem-solving abilities, and a passion for advancing vehicle safety and performance, which will align successfully in the organization. Job Title: Brake Performance Engineer Location: Foster City, CA Pay Range: $86 per hour + Benefits What's the Job? Develop brake performance and enhance braking comfort through innovative engineering solutions. Test and optimize the interaction between brake and drivetrain actuators for seamless vehicle operation. Establish and monitor metrics and targets to ensure vehicle-level performance standards are met. Translate system requirements into detailed specifications for components and systems. Refine testing methodologies to improve accuracy, efficiency, and reliability of results. What's Needed? B.S. or M.S. degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Automotive Engineering with 5-8 years of relevant experience in brake development and vehicle testing. Deep understanding of hydraulic and electro-mechanical braking systems, including controllers and stability functions. Familiarity with vehicle dynamics across various surface conditions and testing environments. Hands-on experience with vehicle instrumentation, data acquisition, and brake system integration. Proficiency with brake performance tools and software such as CANalyzer, INCA, MDA, MATLAB/Simulink, and Racelogic Vbox. What's in it for me?
