Vice President – Insurance Sales (Data, AI & Integrated Solutions)OverviewEXL is seeking a senior, market-facing Vice President – Insurance Sales to drive growth across the U.S. insurance industry by helping carriers modernize their businesses through Data, AI, Analytics, Digital, Technology, and Operations transformation solutions.This role is focused on acquiring new strategic insurance clients across Life & Annuity, Property & Casualty, Specialty, and Re Insurance markets. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and closing large, multi-year transformation opportunities that combine Tech consulting, Value Creation through Data, AI and Analytics levers, Platform Modernization and Operations Workflow Transformation capabilities to deliver measurable business outcomes.Reporting to the Insurance Sales Leadership team, the ideal candidate will come from a leading consulting, advisory, technology services, analytics, or business transformation organization. The candidate should have a proven track record of originating and closing complex transformation engagements focused on Data Modernization, Artificial Intelligence Enablement, Advanced Analytics, Cloud Migration and Platform Modernization, Intelligent Operations, and overall Digital Transformation within the insurance sector.This senior individual contributor and market-maker role requires strong executive presence, deep insurance industry knowledge, consultative selling skills, and the ability to build strategic relationships with C-suite and senior business leaders. The successful candidate will be comfortable creating opportunities in whitespace accounts, shaping executive-level transformation agendas, and positioning integrated solutions that drive growth, operational efficiency, customer experience improvement, and business innovation.The individual will work closely with industry, analytics, AI, digital, technology, and operations leaders to identify client challenges and align EXL’s capabilities to strategic business priorities. Success in this role requires the ability to translate complex Insurance business problems into transformational solutions that deliver measurable business value and long-term client partnerships.Key ResponsibilitiesNew Logo Sales & Market DevelopmentDevelop and execute a targeted growth strategy focused on acquiring new insurance clients and expanding market presence.Build and manage a qualified pipeline of opportunities across Data, AI, Analytics, Technology, Digital, and Operations transformation.Originate, shape, and close large, complex deals involving consulting, data engineering, AI/ML, GenAI, intelligent automation, cloud transformation, managed services, and business operations.Consistently achieve annual bookings, revenue, and pipeline targets through disciplined account planning and consultative sales execution.Identify emerging market trends and client priorities to develop strategic growth opportunities.Insurance Solution SellingPosition EXL’s integrated capabilities around high-value insurance transformation initiatives, including:Enterprise data modernization and cloud transformationAI-driven underwriting and risk assessmentClaims modernization and intelligent claims operationsCustomer, agent, and policyholder experience transformationGenAI and Agentic AI applications across insurance workflowsAdvanced analytics for growth, retention, profitability, and customer insightsFraud detection, risk analytics, and predictive modelingFinance, actuarial, and enterprise data transformationIntelligent operations and process optimizationDigital service and contact center transformationCore platform modernization and ecosystem integrationData platforms leveraging Snowflake, Databricks, Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, and related technologiesTranslate complex business challenges into compelling transformation programs with clear business outcomes, ROI, and measurable value.Develop industry-relevant thought leadership and executive-level points of view around the future of insurance, AI adoption, analytics-driven decision making, and operating model transformation.Executive Relationship ManagementEstablish trusted advisor relationships with C-suite and senior executives across target insurance accounts.Engage CEOs, COOs, CIOs, CDOs, CTOs, Chief Data & Analytics Officers, Chief Claims Officers, Chief Underwriting Officers, Chief Digital Officers, and Heads of Operations.Navigate complex buying centers across business, technology, data, analytics, finance, procurement, and operations functions.Represent EXL at industry conferences, executive forums, client events, and leadership roundtables.Leverage personal networks, thought leadership, and strategic partnerships to create access to new buying centers and decision makers.Deal Shaping & Commercial LeadershipLead pursuits from opportunity identification through proposal development, solution design, negotiation, and contract execution.Collaborate with consulting, industry, analytics, AI, technology, operations, and delivery teams to develop differentiated client solutions.Shape enterprise transformation programs that integrate advisory, data, AI, technology, and managed services capabilities.Build business cases that quantify value through revenue growth, productivity improvement, expense reduction, customer experience enhancement, risk mitigation, and operational effectiveness.Maintain strong CRM discipline, forecasting accuracy, pipeline management, and sales governance.Skills & QualificationsThe ideal candidate is a senior insurance sales and growth executive who combines:Deep understanding of the U.S. insurance industryStrong Data, AI, Analytics, and Digital transformation expertiseExperience selling complex, multi-service solutions and enterprise transformation programsConsultative and value-based selling capabilitiesExecutive-level communication and relationship-building skillsCredibility with both business and technology stakeholdersAbility to connect business challenges with data-driven and AI-enabled solutionsStrong commercial acumen and new business development skillsProven ability to create and close opportunities in new and underpenetrated accountsThis individual must be a true hunter with a demonstrated history of generating new business and building strategic client relationships from the ground up.Education & LocationBachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.Preferred locations include New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Chicago, Atlanta, Dallas, Charlotte, Boston, or other major insurance markets.Ability to travel as required.Base Salary Range: $170-$240kThe posted range is the hiring range for this role — a subset of the broader range available to employees over time — and reflects base salary across our national hiring scale. Final offers are based on several factors, including the candidate's skills and experience, internal pay equity, work location, market conditions for the role, and the specific scope and responsibilities of the position. The top of the range is reserved for candidates who notably exceed the requirements; the lower end applies to those with less experience or fewer preferred qualifications. For positions based in higher-cost zones (e.g., California, New York, New Jersey), actual compensation may exceed the posted range; your recruiter will share specifics during the process.
