Microsoft 365/Azure/Hybrid Infrastructure Contract Engineer

We emphasize a consultative approach, reliability, speed, quality customer service, and continuous improvement. *Role Description:* This is a part-time independent contracting role in the US. We are looking for contract engineers who have significant experience and expertise implementing, configuring, troubleshooting, and supporting Microsoft technologies in client environments, and who want to take on contract work as it becomes available. Contract opportunities will include projects, 'ad-hoc' engineering hours contracts, and ongoing daily support contracts. Engineers are not expected to have experience or expertise with the entire Microsoft technology stack - specializations such as Intune configurations are completely fine. Exclusivity with Eclipse Solutions is not required or expected. We are looking to grow long-term, positive relationships that are built on trust and mutual benefit. *Pay Structure:* Compensation is based on a revenue-sharing model. Engineers receive a percentage of the revenue generated from each engagement, with the exact percentage defined in the applicable contract. Our goal is to create a mutually beneficial arrangement that is fair, transparent, and rewarding for all parties. *Typical Contract Process:* Eclipse Solutions qualifies services opportunities and reaches out to relevant engineers who have the discretion to further qualify and accept opportunities. If opportunities are accepted, engineers will work with Eclipse Solutions and clients to fully scope the project/work and create the applicable contracts to ensure clients' needs are met and industry best practices are followed. Contracted engineers are responsible for ensuring the contracted work is performed in a timely and professional manner, according to the terms of the contracts and industry best practices. Eclipse Solutions will be responsible for sales, customer service, and collaborating with engineers on project management. *Remote, Onsite, or Hybrid:* Primarily remote, while some opportunities may include onsite work *Engineer Location:* Engineers must live in the US *Coverage:* Clients will be located across the US *Relevant technologies:* * Microsoft 365 - Entra ID, Intune, Defender, Purview, Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, Office, etc. * Azure * Copilot * Hybrid infrastructure/On-premises server software - Windows Server, Active Directory, SQL Server, Exchange Server, Configuration Manager * Windows desktop OS * Visual Studio, GitHub * Etc. *Contract opportunities will include:* * Product deployments - Intune, Entra ID (Conditional Access, etc.), Defender for Office 365/Endpoint/Cloud Apps, etc. * AI readiness and implementations - Copilot and relevant data governance measures * Migration projects - tenant migrations, on-prem to Microsoft 365 & Azure migrations, cross-platform migrations (ex. GWS to M365) * Ad-hoc troubleshooting and configuration engineering hours - more generalized hourly rate contracts engaged by clients on an as-needed basis * Ongoing support contracts - responsibilities include daily administrative tasks, health checks, etc. *Qualifications:* * Significant experience and expertise with Microsoft technologies (specialization is completely fine) * Strong troubleshooting skills * Experience performing engineering work in a professional setting * Strong understanding of industry best practices * Strong sense of professionalism * Effective communication and documentation skills * Must live in the US * High-level Microsoft certifications are preferred * Plus: significant experience and expertise with other technologies and clients in other verticals, experience working as a contract engineer or services engineer, experience working with SMB clients *Other Requirements:* * Completion of a successful background check before onboarding (cost covered by Eclipse Solutions) * Signature of general agreement with Eclipse Solutions covering terms and conditions of employment Pay: From $150.00 per hour Benefits: * Flexible schedule Language: * English (Preferred) Work Location: Remote
