General Labor & Machine Operator

Required Skills Applicants MUST: Be physically able perform regular ground labor tasks--able to lift heavy objects when needed. Be able to operate a mini-skid track machine confidently and efficiently. Be able to operate chainsaws and basic tree care equipment properly and safely. Be able to do basic trimming from the ground. (More advanced skills can be trained.) Be willing to learn industry standards and best practices. Hold a VALID driver’s license with NO DUIs. Have reliable transportation to and from work. Consistently follow all safety standards—including sobriety—to maintain a safe work environment. Preferred Skills Applicants with the following will have a significant advantage: 2+ years of experience working in the tree care industry--with a referral. Basic mechanical/maintenance skills for chainsaws, mini-skid steer, stump grinder, brush chipper, etc. Job Duties Include Collect and move materials using the mini-skid (loading materials into the truck/trailer or feeding them through the brush chipper). Drive the chipper truck from site to site or to dump--No CDL required. DOT medical card required—company-paid (includes physical and drug screen). Provide assistance to the climber with ground-related work as directed. Stack brush for the machine to grab, buck logs, rake debris, use a back-pack blower, and conduct post-job site checks to ensure all company tools and equipment are collected. Perform snow removal duties (snowblower, shoveling, salting) and lawn mowing or related tasks as needed. Regularly and effectively communicate onsite with team members and management to ensure smooth operations. Weather Conditions We work in different weather conditions, but we do not perform tree trimming or removals in high-risk situations such as: high winds, lightning, extreme weather warnings (high heat/humidity, extreme cold/wind chill, severe storm warnings, tornadoes, etc.), and air-quality warnings rated “Unhealthy” or above Schedule and Pay Hours vary depending on weather conditions and daylight hours. We aim for full-time in 4 days per week, year-round. Starting pay: $25–$30 per hour, based on experience and capability. Raises based on personal reliability and job performance (consistent quality or improvement). Overtime paid at time-and-a-half after 40 worked hours in a week. Weekends are rare and only ever used to makeup hours (typically lost due to weather), or emergency work (such as storm damage cleanup) .
