Job TitleAssistant Technician/LTO - 12 Hour Night ShiftPosition OverviewPurpose: To help support run the 2-meter Burkle line efficient and safe with the maximum amount of production and a minimal amount of off-quality. Operator is responsible for assisting the Burkle Technicians on the Burkle line with quality inspections and ensure the safe transporting of materials throughout the plant utilizing a lift truck. This position reports to the shift Leads and Production Coordinators.Requirements: (Essential) Moving materials from manufacturing lines or storage locations to WIP areas or other assigned areas.Daily completion of lift truck check sheets.Achieving set quality standardsDocumenting process settings in the computer.Must be able to print, relocate, and issue pallets using USF2 system.Assist Burkle technicians manage the chemical tank farm to include drums and totes.Safely operate a crane for the Hoover Tank Farm to transport drums of primerRestock totes of topcoat chemistry for the Burkle mezzaninePerform Black Box Inspections for each pallet at the outfeed of Burkle line (visual quality inspections of products for defects and grading)Operator must be able to start and stop the Burkle lineAssist Burkle technicians on the infeed and/ or outfeed conveyors during minor jams or general maintenance.Assist Burkle technicians change out/ troubleshoot robot suction cups when neededAssist with performing inventory cycle counts as needed.Assist in general housekeeping tasks (cleaning UV lamps, disposal of old UV lamps, blow out underneath ovens and conveyors, clean sink station.)Assist Burkle Technicians with operation of Burkle equipment and Quality ToolsClean and dry Burkle applicator and doctor rolls when neededOperating the conveyor system for the Burkle line.Cross training to fill in as a burkle tech as neededOperate floor sweeper when needed.Maintaining a neat and orderly work space.Maintain production lines with the correct materialsRestock all the PPE for the Burkle Line (rags, hand changing towels, gloves, yellow suits, face shields, etc.)Safely cut and prepare coupons for the Burkle Technicians when neededRemove, collect, and properly dispose of shipping materials including pallets, straps, cardboard, and bolsters.Changing lift truck or other PIT batteries as needed.Work normally scheduled days adhering to starting and stopping times. Work overtime as required.Performing the duties of other LTO’s when necessary.Safely complete other assigned duties as needed.Non-Essential DutiesMust be a team playerTake an active role in committees.Must have the ability to be cross trained for other jobs.Must have the ability to perform basic reading, writing, and math.Must be able to pass a color blindness and vision test.Must be familiar with or willing to learn current computer systems and software.Must be able to operate a lift truck once trained.Must be able to safely operate the battery changing station equipmentMust be able to mount and dismount lift truck up to 100 times a day.Must have adequate depth perception.Must be able to withstand changes in temperature and humidity.Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassistedMust be able to sit/ stand for 12-hours a day.Must complete yearly LTO recertification program.Required Knowledge, Skills, And AbilitiesMust comply with all required OSHA, SAFE, and plant specific safety rules and regulations.Must be able to work without close supervision.Capable of head, neck and body rotation for full visibility of surroundings.Must be able to occasionally climb stairs to operate equipmentPreferredPrevious experience operating powered industrial machineryExperience with continuous manufacturing processes.Work Shift12 Hr rotating shift, Hrs fall to in punch day, Act Calendar, shift starts PM, days change onlyShaw Industries is an equal opportunity employer as to all protected groups, including protected veterans and individuals with disabilities.
