Shipping Supervisor
Growing Manufacturing Company in Decatur, IL seeking seasoned Shipping Supervisor for their 1st Shift!Schedule is 1st Shift: 6:00-2:30PM. Annual salary is $65,000 - $70,000. Compensation may be adjusted slightly for candidates who exceed required qualifications.A manufacturing organization is seeking a Shipping & Logistics Supervisor to lead daily outbound and inbound shipping operations. This role is responsible for coordinating shipment schedules, ensuring compliance with transportation regulations, supervising warehouse shipping staff, and maintaining accurate documentation and reporting.The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, operationally strong, and capable of leading a team in a fast-paced production environment.Key ResponsibilitiesReview shipping notices, bills of lading, customer orders, and related documentation to determine shipment priorities and work assignmentsSupervise and coordinate incoming and outgoing shipments to ensure accuracy, completeness, and proper handlingPlan load configurations, determine space requirements, and ensure compliance with legal load limits and routing regulationsOversee loading operations and verify shipments meet required specificationsMonitor shipping weights, freight charges, and related cost controlsPrepare and process bills of lading and shipping documentationMaintain records of unfulfilled orders and shipping discrepanciesSubmit required driver documentation, payroll data, and reports to third-party logistics partnersInspect material handling equipment, docks, and warehouse areas; coordinate maintenance or repairs as neededDirect workflow within shipping areas to ensure on-time performanceAddress customer inquiries and special shipping requestsResolve shipment errors, employee conflicts, and operational issuesStandardize and improve shipping procedures to increase efficiencyPrepare summary and performance reportsEnsure adherence to all safety regulations, including Lock-Out/Tag-Out proceduresMaintain regular, reliable attendance and flexibility to work overtime as business needs requirePerform additional duties as assignedLeadership & Professional CompetenciesStrong communication skills with the ability to clearly provide direction and actively listenAccountability and ownership mentalityAbility to handle conflict professionally and maintain team cohesionCommitment to continuous improvement and operational excellenceHigh work ethic and willingness to support team needsAbility to operate effectively within structured systems while improving processes where neededResilience and adaptability in a fast-paced environmentSense of urgency with strong follow-throughWork Environment & Physical RequirementsSeeking candidate who has worked in facilities whereby trucks were being managed coming from and going to multiple locations. This is much more complex than simple freight where trucks are coming from and going to one location.
