Assistant Controller

You’re proactive, reliable, and a strong communicator who takes pride in accurate and reliable financial reporting,Position Overview: The ‘Assistant Controller’ reports to the Controller and works closely with executive leadership to support the company’s financial integrity and operational success. This role oversees financial reporting, analysis, accounting operations, and compliance, ensuring accurate financial information and strong internal controls across the organization.Key Responsibilities: Financial ReportingLead the preparation of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements in accordance with GAAP. Oversee the general ledger, ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and timely reconciliation of all financial transactions. Manage intercompany transactions and consolidations across entities. Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable regulations. Continuously evaluate and enhance accounting processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability. Financial AnalysisAnalyze monthly financial results, identifying key trends and drivers of variances compared to prior periods and forecasts. Develop and maintain annual and quarterly forecasts; monitor performance against projections and provide actionable insights to leadership. Partner with project teams to review and evaluate project-level financial forecasts and performance metrics. Finance Operations & ComplianceProvide oversight of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions to ensure strong cash flow management and operational efficiency. Oversee payroll processing, benefits administration, and 401(k) compliance. Coordinate and support external audits and collaborate with auditors and other external stakeholders. Support and optimize integrations across core financial systems. Ensure compliance with licensing and sales tax requirements across multi-state operations. Qualifications: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; or 5+ years of relevant experience. CPA, CMA, or MBA is highly preferred Experience in NetSuite, Procore, and/or Paycor is a plus. Strong financial management and mathematical skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Effective time management and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills, both written and oral. Skilled in data analysis, problem-solving, and evaluating financial information. Compensation: $95,000 – $120,000 commensurate with experience.
