Transportation Construction Inspector Supervisor
Job TypeFull-timeDescriptionDescriptionSupervise a team of Transportation Construction Inspectors providing oversight of contractor's work efforts by ensuring quality control and contract compliance for roadway, structure, and bridge construction/maintenance projects of routine to moderate complexity, under the direction of a Construction Manager or designee. Detailed staff oversight responsibilities include but are not limited to the supervision and review of subordinate work in the following areas:Inspection and monitoring of contractual field work including excavation, drainage facilities, roadway surfaces, and structuresReporting contractor's daily operationsTaking field measurements of pay itemsReviewing placement of and witnessing tests associated with the quality control of construction materialsReviewing line, grade, dimension, and elevation parameters.Overseeing and enforcing the installation of appropriate erosion and sediment controlsOverseeing and enforcing the installation of highway work zones and traffic control devicesMaintaining project records including daily Project Site Activity (PSA) reports, materials notebooks, as-built plans, pay quantity records, and monthly estimatesReviews and monitors Equal Employment Opportunity/Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) documentation and compliance with Federal labor requirements/regulations for Federal-aid construction projects, ensuring contractor compliance with program requirementsRequirementsMust qualify as a TCIS-1 or TCIS-2NECEPT Bituminous Asphalt Field Technician CertificationPennDOT Concrete Field Technician CertificationNICET CertificationThe successful Transportation Construction Inspector Supervisor candidate is expected to be proficient in and possess knowledge and experience in the following areas: ECMS - Engineering and Construction Management SystemPPCC - PennDOT Project Collaboration CenterOperation of computer equipmentOperation of iPad including functional knowledge of appropriate associated and required "Apps" i.e....Concrete app, MPT app, VSIR app, etc....Roadway, structure and bridge construction/maintenance/repair/rehabilitation methods, materials, standards and specifications Ability to read and interpret roadway, structure and bridge plans and specificationsApplication of mathematical formulas including algebra, geometry and trigonometryMaintenance of detailed recordsPerform and document required materials testingAbility to communicate with the client, contractor personnel and the general public in a professional and courteous mannerEEO StatementQCS is an equal opportunity employer.
