The position offers exposure to senior finance leadership and has long-term growth potential into a regional controller-level opportunity.Position OverviewThe Senior Financial Analyst will report directly to the Regional Controller and support the accounting, reporting, and financial analysis for multiple entities and locations within an assigned region. This person will own key pieces of the monthly close, prepare and review financial statements, analyze business performance, and partner closely with operations leaders to understand revenue, labor, materials, costs, and margin drivers.The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting foundation, experience with full financial statements, and the ability to explain what is driving performance across the P&L and balance sheet.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and review income statements, balance sheets, and monthly financial reporting packages for assigned entities and locations.Support the monthly close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, account analysis, and general ledger review.Analyze monthly financial performance and provide clear explanations for variances in revenue, labor, materials, margin, and expenses.Partner with operations leaders, site general managers, and regional finance leadership to understand business performance and key drivers.Review labor hours, material usage, rate, volume, mix, and other operational inputs to determine the root cause of financial variances.Assist with annual budgets, forecasts, and ongoing financial planning for assigned business units.Maintain accuracy of general ledger activity and ensure proper accounting classifications.Prepare documentation and support schedules for internal and external audit requests.Identify accounting issues, reporting gaps, or process improvement opportunities and recommend solutions.Support special projects, operational reviews, and ad hoc financial analysis as needed.Work closely with field operations to ensure financial information is accurate, timely, and actionable.Ideal BackgroundBachelor’s degree in Accounting required.4+ years of progressive accounting, financial analysis, audit, or cost accounting experience.Strong understanding of the full P&L and balance sheet.Experience with multi-entity, multi-location, or regional accounting environments.Ability to close, analyze, and explain business performance.Exposure to cost accounting, labor/materials analysis, service contracts, audit, or operational finance is highly preferred.Strong Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.Excellent communication skills with the ability to partner with both finance and non-finance leaders.Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.Backgrounds That Translate WellPublic accounting or audit with strong financial statement exposure.Cost accounting or operational accounting.Service-based, contract-based, transportation, logistics, facilities, construction, manufacturing, or multi-site environments.Corporate accounting roles with meaningful P&L, balance sheet, close, and variance analysis responsibility.
