Welder

Welder Position The welder is responsible for performing welding tasks involved in the construction of trailer base frames, walls, roofs, doors, ramps, and gates for various aluminum-framed trailers. This includes measuring, cutting, and welding of aluminum trailer components.Functions and responsibilities include:Reading and following blueprints and work orders, ensuring a quality product that meets customer demands.Welding different facets of aluminum trailers, including but not limited to: tacking, clamping, and welding with proper bead size on bases and cages by the work order; ensures the quality of welds for structural integrity.Obtaining raw materials from the material handlers.Buffing out rough edges using a hand-held power grinder.Notifying supervisor of any mechanical or material issues, including but not limited to, defects in material, damage to the trailer, and deviations from the work order.Ensuring that the finished product meets quality expectations. Strives for the highest level of quality and understands the need for continuous improvement; supports the concept of "good enough is never good enough".Maintaining a clean and safe work area; works to minimize scrap, places unused material back in the appropriate area, and disposes of waste appropriately.Following all safety procedures, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and immediately reporting any accidents or near misses to the supervisor.Performing other related duties and assignments as required.Desired education and experience:Minimum: previous welding experience and ability to read a tape measure.Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment is helpful.Prior welding experience with aluminum or steel is desired.Knowledge, skills, and abilities:Must be able to work quickly without sacrificing quality or safety.Must have a keen understanding of manufacturing processes.Must be able to measure and cut accurately.Must possess the ability to creatively think and solve problems.Ability to read blueprints and work orders accurately.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Strong time management and organizational abilities.Education:High school or equivalent (Required)Experience:Welding: 1 year (Preferred)Benefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceEmployee discountHealth insuranceHealth savings accountLife insurancePaid time offReferral programRetirement planVision insurance
