Model-Based Systems Engineer (MBSE)
Location: Dayton, OH (Onsite)
We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Model-Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) to support advanced intelligence analysis, modeling, and simulation initiatives within a defense-focused engineering environment. This role supports the development of authoritative engineering models and analytical solutions contributing to national security and aerospace defense missions. The selected candidate will collaborate closely with engineers, software developers, analysts, and cross-functional technical teams to support complex systems and systems-of-systems engineering efforts.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and analyze Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) artifacts and integrated engineering datasets for complex systems and architectures
Utilize SysML to model system architectures, behaviors, interfaces, and operational workflows
Support engineering analysis, simulation, and systems integration activities within a collaborative multi-disciplinary environment
Produce and present technical documentation, engineering models, reports, and architecture artifacts
Collaborate with internal engineering teams, external stakeholders, and government personnel to support mission objectives
Contribute to systems engineering lifecycle activities including requirements analysis, architecture development, verification, validation, and configuration management
Support modeling and simulation efforts to improve system performance, operational effectiveness, and analytical capabilities
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related STEM field
Minimum of 3 years of relevant engineering or MBSE experience
Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies and SysML
Proficiency with MBSE tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler, MagicDraw, IBM Rhapsody, or Enterprise Architect
Experience developing and maintaining engineering models for complex systems or systems-of-systems
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts effectively
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Active TS/SCI Security Clearance or ability to obtain one
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Engineering or related technical field
OCSMP, INCOSE CSEP, PMP, or related certifications
Knowledge of SysML 2.0
Experience with object-oriented programming languages such as Java, C++, or Python
Familiarity with DoDAF, UAF, or related architecture frameworks
Experience analyzing engineering and architecture data to solve complex technical problemsKnowledge of aerospace and defense systems engineering processes
Familiarity with modeling and simulation (M&S) tools, methodologies, and best practices
Clearance Requirement
Active TS/SCI Security Clearance preferred, or eligibility to obtain and maintain one.
