Mechanical Engineer (Senior) - $140K

ResponsibilitiesRCT Systems, Power Systems Division, is seeking Senior Mechanical Engineers specializing in 3D electronics packaging, thermal system design, and hardware build and test. Responsibilities of a qualified Senior Mechanical Engineer candidate will include:Package complex power converters, energy storage systems, and PLC systemsBuild and test complex power converters, energy storage systems, and PLC systemsDesign thermal management systems for power electronics Perform structural analysis for components, support structures, and ruggedized enclosures under harsh environmental conditions and shock and vibrationUse FEA, CFD, and hand calculations for thermal and structural analysisCreate, review, and issue prototype and production level drawings IAW GD&T standardsSource vendors and communicate for quoting and procurement of custom partsPrepare and perform technical presentations and design reviews for customers Create and maintain process and build documentation in conjunction with operations teamWrite and/or review ME focused patents, whitepapers, and technical conference/journal articlesMentor junior engineersLead cross-functional teams to develop solid-state power conversion systemsProvide technical input into business development activitiesMinimum Requirements United States Citizenship is required due to US Government ITAR program restrictionsAbility to obtain a DoD security clearanceBS in mechanical engineering is required; graduate work is acceptable in lieu of some work experienceCandidates with strengths in some of the following areas are highly encouraged to apply:CREO 3D modeling softwareWindchill PLM software (Administrator experience is a plus)FEA and CFD modeling software packagesDesigning thermal management systems and/or high-performance heat exchangersMechanical shock and vibration analysisWorking with on-site manufacturing in a rapid prototyping environmentImmediate Requirements/Projects IncludeMW scale power converters for Naval ship applicationsPreparation of technical data package and related documentationThermal design of coldplates, heat exchangers, and overall TMS for large power electronics systemsStructural, thermal, and shock and vibration analysis in SimLab, Creo Simulate, and Creo FlowNaval shipboard and undersea submersible component designRCT Systems PSD supports hybrid (remote/in-office) and flexible work schedules; however, candidates must reside within (or be willing to relocate to) commuting distance of our Baltimore, MD facility.Job Postings can be found at: https://www.rct-systems.com/current-job-openings/RCT Offers a Competitive Benefits Package That IncludesMedical, Dental, and Vision coverageGenerous PTO and Sick TimeLife InsuranceFlexible schedules availableRCT Systems is committed and proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
