Selected candidate will oversee earthwork and the on-site contractors in the environmental waste and soil remediation activities including soil and waste handling, contaminated material management, and groundwater-related work. Ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience with directing and managing daily field activities related to earthwork, cut / fill operations, erosion, and waste and groundwater related management. Candidate will work closely with on-site Project Manager in managing the project. Project includes landfill solid waste excavation and placement, repository construction, capping systems, and earthwork. The selected candidate should have experience supervising grading, cut/fill operations, haul routes, erosion and sediment controls, and drainage features. Responsibilities: · Direct and manage daily field activities related to waste excavation and placement, repository construction, capping systems, and earthwork. · Supervise grading, cut/fill operations, haul routes, erosion and sediment controls, and drainage features. · Monitor production rates, sequencing, and constructability to meet schedule and budget objectives · Oversee environmental remediation activities including soil and waste handling, contaminated material management, and groundwater-related work. · Ensure compliance with project permits, Remedial Action Plans (RAPs), work plans, and regulatory conditions. · Coordinate environmental monitoring, sampling activities, and inspections with consultants and testing firms. · Maintain accurate field documentation including daily reports, logs, and compliance records. · Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for project managers, subcontractors, inspectors, and regulatory representatives. · Coordinate subcontractor activities and ensure proper integration with site operations. · Assist with planning and sequencing work, including short-term look-ahead schedules. · Participate in project meetings and provide field input on constructability and logistics · Responsible for taking care of company truck/trailer are maintained and in good working condition · Responsible for maintaining and caring for company owned tools/material stock on-hand · Provide guidance, direction, and coordination of all on-site subcontract work · Assure development, implementation, and compliance with project specific HASP program, including emergency evacuation plan · Assure compliance with Company HASP (Health And Safety Plan) program and accident reporting · Assure Subcontractor compliance with all project safety requirements, including weekly safety meetings and reports · Assure Subcontractor compliance with all subcontract requirements, including staff drug and alcohol policies; sexual harassment policy; hazard communication policy; EEO policy; etc. · Assure compliance with all Company standards, systems, and practices · Produce Daily Construction Reports (DCR’s), per ET standards with supporting photos to record daily progress and events · Produce weekly subcontractor coordination meeting minutes and monthly project progress reports · Interface with Owner’s on-site representative · Present and conduct oneself in a professional, respectful manner in dealing with all parties, including: · the Client; subcontractors, suppliers; professional service providers; government authorities, etc. · Assure timely submittal of all reports, including timesheets and expense reports · Assure project achieves schedule requirements and contract completion date Qualifications: · 5+ years as a superintendent of heavy earthwork experience with underground utilities installation · 3–5 years of experience in landfill operations, environmental remediation, and/or heavy civil earthwork is desired, but not required · Strong working knowledge of landfill construction and operations (waste placement, caps, liners, slopes, drainage) desired, but not required · Familiarity with environmental regulations, permits, and remediation requirements. · Experience supervising field crews and subcontractors. · Experience with the construction of heavy concrete foundations and retaining walls · Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills · Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and environmental work plans. · Experience working on regulated remediation sites (RAPs, Brownfields, Superfund, or similar programs). · Familiarity with geosynthetics (GCLs, geomembranes, geotextiles), earthwork testing, and QA/QC. · OSHA 30-Hour certification (or ability to obtain) · Field-based position requiring daily presence on active construction and remediation sites. · Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. · Coordinate with PM and vendors/suppliers to assure timely delivery of all required materials/services to complete said work task · Physically able to climb ladders, walk job sites, and lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally. · Ability to develop work-around plans for delays due to weather or resources. · Strong professional judgment and ability to manage priorities. · Proficiency with Microsoft Excel for scheduling;
