Job DescriptionTrusts & Estates Associate - Premier Boutique Private Client Practice (Chicago, IL | Hybrid)Law firm is seeking a highly skilled Trusts & Estates Associate to join its expanding team.This is a rare opportunity to join a deeply respected, high-end practice with complex work, direct client exposure, and significant long-term growth potential.About the RoleThe firm is seeking an experienced, motivated attorney with strong technical skills in trusts & estates, estate tax planning, and wealth-transfer strategies. The ideal candidate brings exceptional drafting ability, advanced analytical skills, and the confidence to work directly with sophisticated clients.Prior law firm experience is required.Key ResponsibilitiesHandle complex and high-net-worth estate, tax, wealth-transfer, and business-succession planningDraft sophisticated estate planning instruments, including irrevocable trusts, income/estate tax planning documents, and business-planning documentsAdvise fiduciaries and beneficiaries in trust and estate administrationWork with pass-through entities (LLCs, LPs) and charitable planning structuresMaintain organized client files and deliver work product with exceptional attention to detailParticipate in in-person and virtual client meetingsManage multiple high-level projects in a fast-paced boutique environmentRequired QualificationsJD from an accredited law school4+ years of trusts & estates experience in a law firm or comparable settingStrong experience with estate and gift tax planningAdmission to the Illinois BarExceptional drafting, writing, research, and analytical skillsHighly professional, detail-oriented, and capable of independent workStrong communication and client-relationship abilitiesProficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)Ability to work extended hours during peak periodsLL.M. in Tax, CPA, MBA, or similar credentials are a plusSkills & AttributesSelf-starter with excellent judgmentHigh level of discretion and professionalismStrong organizational and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to manage numerous deadlines in a demanding practiceAbility to work both independently and collaborativelyCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive salary, commensurate with experienceAnnual discretionary bonusComprehensive benefits package including medical (PPO/HMO/HSA options), dental, vision, life, STD/LTDPTO and paid holidays401(k) with employer safe-harbor match up to 5%Hybrid schedule available after 60-90 daysAccess to on-site fitness center and tenant loungeComplimentary office beverages and snacksFirm-sponsored events and a collaborative, high-caliber environmentApply or reach out to Jessica at 605-846-8647 or jessica.mccloud@gogpac.com
