Job DescriptionCentraCare is looking to our community for experienced cooks interested in joining our Hospital Nutrition team!Our Cooks prepare meals for hospital patients, guests, employees, and catered events following standardized recipes and established policies. The role involves adhering to Customer Service Standards, ensuring patient and safety protocols are followed, and demonstrating Family Centered Care principles in interactions with patients, their families, guests, and colleagues.We are looking for experienced (Restaurant or Care Center/Hospital) cooks only. Please designate your available hours when applying to better help us find a position that fits with your availability.SchedulePart-time | 40-48 hours every two weeks.Day shifts | 9:30 am - 6pm | 40 hours per two weeksEve shifts | 2 pm - 10:30 pm | 48 hours per two weeksFull-time shifts may be available, best pathway is to start with part-time.Every second or third weekend and rotating holidays requiredPay and BenefitsStarting pay begins at $20.82 per hour and increases with experiencePay range: $17.28 - $26.54 per hourEarn extra pay for working weekend/holiday shiftsEarn extra pay on hours worked (minimum 4) between 3p and 11p.Full or Part-time benefits; medical, dental, PTO, retirement, employee discounts and more!Visit our Benefits | CentraCare page for more information!QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GEDIn lieu of post high school training, one year cooking or related experience in our hospital or similar institution, restaurant or catering production will be accepted.Food Safety Training accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI)-Conference for Food Protection (CFP).Can be ServSafe or TAP Series within 1 1/2 Yrs RequiredPost High School Degree Post high school specialized training in volume and/or institutional cooking preferredTechnical or cooking school certificates. preferredKnowledge of sanitation and HACCP preferredAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
