Job Title: Surgical Nursing/Orthopedic Staff Registered Nurse (RN) Location: Pikeville, KY Job Description: Are you a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) with a passion for surgical nursing and orthopedic care? We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Surgical Nursing/Orthopedic Staff RN to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will provide professional nursing care to patients undergoing various surgical procedures, including orthopedic surgeries. Responsibilities: Assess and reassess patients across the lifespan and apply the nursing process to ensure optimal care. Demonstrate competency in specialized procedures and equipment, including pre and post-operative care, pain management, and medication administration. Provide individualized, age-specific care that supports hemostatic regulation, hemodynamic monitoring, and physiologic functioning. Maintain accurate nursing documentation and patient records. Respect patient confidentiality and address psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs. Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans. Supervise and delegate tasks to healthcare staff. Assist physicians with procedures in the department. Participate in performance improvement activities to enhance patient outcomes and processes. Serve as a preceptor to orient new employees. Engage in professional development activities and ongoing education. Requirements: Associate’s degree in nursing required; Bachelor’s degree preferred. Valid RN license and CPR certification. ACLS, BLS, NIHSS EKG certification required. Minimum of 2 years experience in surgical nursing; 5 years preferred. Strong clinical skills and knowledge of surgical procedures and equipment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations with professionalism.
