Laboratory Technician

DescriptionPay Rate: BRPosition Summary:Work in a team-based environment within a manufacturing department responsible for producing solutions for the Gels Department, that manufactures SDS Gels, and buffer solutions for the Antibody Department.Job Responsibilities:Maintain a safe work environmentPerform work in accordance with daily production schedules to fulfill work orders and special requestsFollow batch records to perform solution preparation while documenting the production process as requiredUtilize basic mathematical skills to perform required calculations and provide accurate data documentationMaintain cleanliness of the Solutions LabWill require the use of PPE such as respirators; half-face respirator and PAPRLead/facilitate safety and quality-related Gemba walks.Maintain inventory of chemicals, raw materials and laboratory supplies in the Solutions LabSupport the Antibody department by ensuring all Kanban items are sufficiently stocked in a timely mannerIndependently plan and schedule production as needed for buffer solutions based on requests from R&D, Antibody and other departmentsAssist adjacent groups after daily duties have been achievedLearn and follow all department SOPs, guidelines, and proceduresPerform daily updates in multiple database systemsShare best practices with other employees in the areas of safety, quality and productivityProactively addresses ergonomic concerns in work areaEscalate any safety, quality, or equipment-related issues in a timely mannerSolves basic problems utilizing experience and knowledgePerform other related duties as assigned by area supervisionJob Requirements:Basic mathematical skills to perform required calculationsExperience with lab equipment such as pH meter, mixers, titrator, and RI meters.Strong written and verbal communication skillsWell organized, detail oriented and proficient at multi-taskingHigh school diploma (or GED) requiredA Bachelors in similar field, biology, biotechnology and or chemistry (preferred)At least 1+ years of experience in manufacturing environmentProactive problem-solving skillsExperience in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, PowerPointExperience in ISO 9001, ISO 13485 and/or GMP manufacturing environmentExperience with Good Documentation Practices and document reviewExperience with electronic inventory management systems and documentation management systems.Physical Demands and Work Environment:The physical demands and work environment described are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
