This role is responsible for developing and maintaining robust manufacturing processes that meet stringent military, quality, and reliability requirements while ensuring compliance with applicable standards and customer specifications.Responsibilities And TasksManufacturing & Process EngineeringDevelop, document, and optimize manufacturing processes for electronic assemblies, including PCBAs, cable/harness assemblies, electromechanical/electro-optical assemblies, and chassis-level systemsCreate and maintain work instructions, process flows, routings, travelers, and bills of materialsSupport low- to mid-volume, high-reliability production environments typical of defense programsImplement lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to improve quality, yield, and efficiencyAssembly, Test & Repair Support Provide engineering support for electronic assembly, troubleshooting, rework, and repair of military electronicsAnalyze failures and lead root cause and corrective action (RCCA) investigationsSupport depot-level and field-return repair activitiesCollaborate with test engineering on functional test, environmental test, and acceptance test proceduresQuality & Compliance Ensure manufacturing processes comply with military and industry standards, such as:IPC-A-610, IPC-7711/7721, IPC-J-STD-001MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-883 (as applicable)AS9100 / ISO 9001 quality systemsSupport internal, customer, and government auditsReview and disposition nonconformances, deviations, and waiversDocumentation & Configuration Control Maintain configuration control of manufacturing documentationSupport Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and manufacturing change implementationInterface with design engineering to ensure producibility, serviceability, and testability (DFM/DFA/DFT)Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with design engineering, quality, supply chain, test, and program managementSupport new product introductions (NPI) and production transitionsProvide technical guidance to manufacturing technicians and operatorsEducation, Experience/Knowledge & License/CertificationBachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field3+ years of experience in electronics manufacturing or repair (defense or aerospace preferred)Strong understanding of electronic assembly processes and materialsExperience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, schematics, and military specificationsStrong organizational, analytical, and communication skills, ability to work in a team environmentUS Persons - ITAR Controls applicableHardware Specifications, Manufacturing Methods and Procedures, Manufacturing Quality, Product Development, Presenting Technical Information, CAD, CAD/CAM Circuit DesignKnowledge of creating work orders, sketches for various productionExperience with Prototypes, serial manufacturing, and tool/fixture designPreferred QualificationsExperience with military or aerospace electronics programsLean Manufacturing/Six Sigma CertificationIPC certification (e.g., IPC-A-610, J-STD-001)Experience with failure analysis and corrective action processesFamiliarity with environmental and EMI/EMC requirementsActive or ability to obtain a security clearance (if applicable)Skills And AbilitiesHigh attention to detail and documentation accuracyStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsAbility to work in regulated, high-reliability environmentsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProficient with ERP/MRP systems and standard engineering toolsTravel/Physical RequirementsManufacturing floor and lab environmentsMay require handling ESD-sensitive and controlled hardwareOccasional support for fielded systems or depot operationsHere Are Some Of The Great Benefits We OfferMost locations offer a 9/80 schedule, providing every other Friday off Competitive compensation & 401(k) program to plan for your future Robust medical, dental, vision, & disability coverage with qualified wellness discounts Basic Life Insurance and Additional Life & AD&D Insurances are available Flexible Vacation & PTO Paid Parental Leave Generous Employee Referral Program Voluntary Benefits Available: Longer Term Care, Legal, Identify Theft, Pet Insurance, and more Voluntary Tricare Supplement available for military retirees This job description does not list all the duties of the job.
