Gluing Operator

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour Job description: Nexus Employment Solutions Plus, Inc. is looking to hire directly for a Gluing Operator position in Bolingbrook, IL. The Gluing Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and overseeing folder-gluer and related finishing equipment used to convert printed sheets into finished cartons and packaging. This position plays a key role in maintaining production efficiency while ensuring products meet quality, safety, and customer standards. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Set up, start, and operate folder-gluer and finishing equipment while monitoring machine performance for safety, quality, and efficiency. Read and interpret production schedules, job tickets, work orders, and specifications. Perform machine make-ready activities, including equipment adjustments, glue system setup, and production changeovers. Troubleshoot machine issues such as jams, misfeeds, glue problems, and mechanical concerns, escalating to maintenance when needed. Lead and motivate production crew members to ensure quality, productivity, safety, and cleanliness standards are met. Complete production reports, quality checks, downtime tracking, and other required documentation. Perform preventive maintenance and report equipment issues, injuries, or unsafe conditions promptly. Maintain a clean and organized work area while following all food safety, quality, and company safety procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required. Minimum of 3 years of experience operating folder-gluer machines. Previous lead or crew leader experience preferred. Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills. Basic mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot production equipment. Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds throughout an 8- to 12-hour shift. Must be able to read, speak, and understand English. Schedule: Full-time position supporting a 24/6 production schedule. Overtime and weekend work required based on production needs.
