Marketing, Part-Time Faculty

Position SummaryThe Marketing department at Bellevue College is seeking applications for a pool of applicants interested in teaching courses in our three accredited degrees: the , the , and the . Adjunct work is provided on a part-time basis, typically assigned as needed on a quarterly basis, with no expectation of continued employment beyond the current appointment. The Marketing department consists of three full-time faculty and a number of quarterly-contracted faculty. Depending on qualifications, new adjunct faculty may be assigned to one or more classes that match their demonstrated skills and documented work history. Please follow the following links to review the comprehensive list of professional technical classes we offer in each degree program:Pay, Benefits & Work ScheduleAdjunct Professor is typically assigned as needed on a quarterly basis, with no expectation of continued employment beyond the current appointment.Quarterly remuneration for 5-credit lecture class is $6,418.75- $7, 824.65Compensation is prorated based on type and duration of assignments. Individuals newly hired to Adjunct Professor group at the college are placed at the minimum rate per union bargaining agreement. Certain positions may also be eligible for assignment/project-based additional compensation, including a High Demand Stipend up to $8,350 annually, prorated based on the discipline and duration of the assignment. All additional compensations are subject to change depending on funding and negotiated agreement.Generous for eligible employees is offered through Washington State plans that includes multiple medical, dental, life and disability coverage choices for employees and dependents; choices of retirement and deferred compensation plans; paid personal leave plan; transit program, reduced tuition, employee discounts and memberships, etc. Eligible employees are faculty who work a combined load of at least 50% at Bellevue College and other Washington State public institutions of higher education for two consecutive quarters are eligible for health and dental insurance at the start of the second consecutive quarter.In addition to teaching, faculty maintains office hours and may participate in department and college activities. Priority consideration will be given to faculty who can demonstrate how they have used such software in their own past work experience, have earned industry certifications listed in the qualifications section below, and can share curriculum design ideas around the use of such software to best prepare students for landing jobs after completing the program.Typically, part-time faculty teach on campus, as dictated by program need, course schedule, and enrollment demand. Most classes meet one or two days a week. While courses are offered online and in-person, faculty may be assigned to teach classes in either modality. Most in person classes in the Marketing program are taught in the afternoon or evening as there are a number of working adults enrolled in the program.Part-time faculty are expected to be available to students periodically outside of class electronically and in office hours on campus; to engage students actively in their own learning; to maintain high standards regarding course content; provide students with timely feedback on their course work and examinations; and to adhere to program assessment practices and policies.After a certain time, part-time faculty may be expected to participate in governance activities to support student success efforts and assessment tasks; attend occasional departmental and division meetings; support extracurricular activities affiliated with the Marketing department.Minimum QualificationsA Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, preferably in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related fieldAbility to facilitate the learning of students and colleagues from diverse backgrounds and academic readiness.Relevant experience in industry, with a clear demonstration of digital marketing skills applied to client work.Demonstrated experience with data tools such as SQL, Power BI, Tableau, and/or advanced skills in ExcelExperience using marketing tools to enable measurement such as Amazon Advertising, Google Ads, Google Analytics, SEMrush, Facebook Blueprint, Hootsuite, HubSpot, Microsoft Advertising or similarEffective written and oral communication skills.Ability and willingness to adapt to changing teaching schedules and situationsPreferred QualificationsA Master's degree from an accredited institution, preferably in Marketing, Business, Communications, or or a related fieldA minimum of a year experience with teaching and/or training, with a preference for teaching experience in a professional technical programExperience and Ability to develop links within the business communityIndustry certifications that can include but are not limited to:Amazon Advertising Amazon Web ServicesDigital Marketing Institute Facebook BlueprintGoogle AdsGoogle AnalyticsHootsuite HubSpotMicrosoft AdvertisingPower BISalesforceSEMrushStackAdapt AcademyTableauTikTok Media BuyingYouTubeActive affiliation with professional organizationsKnowledge and perspective of the Marketing degrees at Bellevue College.Demonstrated ability to facilitate learning of students/colleagues from diverse backgroundsKnowledge/experience working with a variety of teaching modalities and delivery methods, including learning management system, simulation, flipped classes, asynchronous/synchronous online courses, hybrid courses, service-learning or applied learning coursesExperience in curriculum and course developmentAbility and willingness to employ continuous improvement in curriculum, teaching, and assessmentWillingness to participate in college initiatives/governanceWillingness to support extracurricular activities affiliated with the Marketing departmentAbility to work independently and as part of a teamJ-18808-Ljbffr
