This year-round, part-time opportunity is perfect for students seeking hands-on experience in accounting while balancing their academic commitments. As an Accounting Co-op, you’ll gain practical skills by supporting essential business functions like month-end close, tax preparation, audit support, and financial reporting.Work closely with a collaborative accounting team, apply classroom knowledge to real-world challenges, and take on increasing responsibilities as you grow. Join us to build your skills, expand your network, and make a meaningful impact!ResponsibilitiesAssist with month-end close processes, including account reconciliations and journal entries. Support tax preparation tasks, ensuring compliance with regulations and deadlines. Contribute to audit preparation by organizing and providing necessary documentation. Assist in the preparation and review of financial reports to ensure accuracy and completeness. Collaborate with the accounting team to manage workload fluctuations during peak periods. Participate in ongoing training to develop skills and take on progressively complex tasks. Maintain accurate records and documentation for all assigned responsibilities. Proactively identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiency within the department. Ensure timely and accurate completion of all assigned tasks, adhering to company policies and procedures. Exhibit flexibility by scaling hours during peak periods (e.g., tax season) and reducing hours during slower times. QualificationsCurrent enrollment in an accredited Accounting or Finance degree program at Junior or Senior level required. Preference for individuals interested in pursuing Tax and/or Audit. Availability to work on-site in St. Louis City for 10 hours per week for one full year. Basic knowledge of accounting principles and proficiency with software such as Excel or QuickBooks. Strong organizational and time-management skills to balance academic and work commitments. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities. Flexibility to scale hours during peak periods and reduce hours during slower times.
