The Aerospace Corporation is a federally funded research and development center (FFRDC) that works on space, launch, ground, and cyber systems for defense, civil and commercial customers. The Civil Systems Group (CSG) supports NASA, NOAA, and NNSA programs with systems engineering and integration services.Position OverviewCyberSecurity Architect (Senior Project Engineer – Cyber Security Architecture & Information Systems Security). This full-time, on-site position is located at NASA Glenn Research Center in Cleveland, OH. The role works closely with government agencies, prime contractors, commercial vendors, and internal teams to define and implement robust cybersecurity measures across complex systems.What You'll Be DoingProvide cyber expertise on studies for spacecraft, components, ground systems, space structures, and other systems to perform analysis and deliver solutions and documentation.Engage stakeholders to define security objectives, protection needs, assurance requirements, and associated validation methods.Define system security requirements and develop comprehensive verification methods.Capture critical system security information in functions such as NASA Engineering Insight or equivalent processes.Develop security views and viewpoints of the overall system architecture and design, ensuring alignment with aerospace or defense strategies.Identify and assess susceptibilities and vulnerabilities across the system lifecycle.Design and plan preemptive and reactive security features to manage asset loss and mitigate potential loss consequences.Perform system security analyses and interpret results to support engineering tradeoffs and risk management decisions.Quantify and evaluate the cost implications, benefits, and risks associated with alternative security features and functions.Inform decision-making with evidence-based reasoning that demonstrates security and trustworthiness claims are met to the desired assurance level.Act as a cybersecurity resource during software, hardware, and broader engineering discussions, leveraging specialized expertise to address feasible solutions.QualificationsBachelor's degree in STEM (computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or related technical discipline).15+ years of professional cybersecurity experience.Experience leading large multidisciplinary engineering development teams.Proven ability to perform system security analyses and present findings to technical and non-technical audiences.Experience independently analyzing, understanding, and verifying requirements from executive-level leadership.Willingness to travel occasionally (˜10%) to work locations or customer sites.May require security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.Preferred (Ways You Can Stand Out)Advanced degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.Prior security-architecture or engineering support experience for defense or aerospace complex systems.Experience working with international partners to achieve shared objectives.Experience managing large budgets for federal agencies and proposing yearly budgets.CompensationGrade-based pay range: $166,400.00 – $249,600.00 (annual).BenefitsComprehensive health care and wellness plans.Paid holidays, sick time, and vacation.Standard and alternate work schedules, including telework options.401(k) plan with company match and immediate vesting.Flexible spending accounts.Variable pay program for exceptional contributions.Relocation assistance.Professional growth and development programs.Education assistance programs.Inclusive work environment built on teamwork, flexibility, and respect.Equal Opportunity CommitmentThe Aerospace Corporation is an equal-opportunity employer.
