Development Coordinator Donor Relations

Position Description We seek a passionate, innovative Donor Relations Coordinator responsible for cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors to achieve The CAC fundraising goals. The primary objective of the Donor Relations Coordinator is to develop long-term relationships with mid to major corporate, foundation, and individual donors by matching their passions with The CAC's program and operating needs. This position reports to the Development Manager and is part of a team responsible for increasing resources needed to support The CAC's mission to protect children, heal families, and prevent child sexual abuse. Duties and Responsibilities Discover donors' giving objectives and passions to identify opportunities that align with The CAC's goals (e.g., annual giving, events, grants, campaigns). Write donor solicitation proposals (e.g., general operating, program operating, project funds). Participate in events (e.g., fundraising, volunteer, third party, networking, tours) to cultivate current donors and new relationships. Create year-round engagement strategies to retain and upgrade donors, reach new prospects, and increase awareness about our mission. Oversee implementation of the stewardship initiatives and recognition for donors. Work in coordination with the Database Specialist to create a prospect pipeline and analyze donor metrics for strategic planning. Support implementation of communications strategy, primarily through email and social media platforms, in coordination with the Communications and Outreach Coordinator. Ensure accuracy and timeliness of data input for assigned relationships in our donor database. Maintain a current understanding of The CAC's initiatives, programs, and goals to communicate effectively with donors. Develop and maintain strong collaborative working relationships with other team members. Proficient in social media platforms, including developing, maintaining and marketing through those information channels. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: The ability to convey a high degree of commitment and passion for mission of The CAC. The ability to manage multiple priorities and take initiative with minimal supervision. Excellent written and oral communication skills that are effective with a diverse range of audiences including board members, volunteers, internal staff, donors, executives, potential funding partners and all constituencies. Strong computer skills and ability to become proficient in relevant software. Proficiency with core social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn in a workplace setting. Functional knowledge of local employers, education institutions, governmental agencies and nonprofits specifically those located within Harris County.
