Cemetery Caretaker Supervisor

Job Description Grounds MaintenanceJob OverviewThe Grounds Maintenance team member reports directly to the Grounds Supervisor at the location and is responsible for maintaining the landscape's appearance and for daily cemetery operations. This role requires the ability to work in a team-focused environment and independently to ensure the satisfaction of the families we serve.ResponsibilitiesPlan the preparation of graves in a timely manner to follow the schedule of interments, entombments, and inurnmentsPrepare grave spaces and perform mausoleum entombmentsKnowledgeable of heavy equipment, including backhoe and dump trailerInstallation of lowering devices and outer burial containersPlace caskets in the mausoleum and utilize the mausoleum lift as neededPlace floral displays at interment sites following servicesInstallation of memorials and crypt or niche platesPerform landscaping duties to include, but not limited to, planting, weed eating, and general lawn care maintenance around sidewalks, memorials, etc.Light-duty, general maintenance of the funeral home and on-site buildingsExpectationsAdherence to all company policies and proceduresDisplay utmost professionalism as you interact with our families, members of the community, and coworkersAttention to detail ensures the client/family wishes are met and exceededAttention to detail with all documents, messages, and memorialsWork safely in accordance with OSHA guidelines and trainingRequirements & QualificationsMinimum of a high school diploma or GED achievedAbility to work proactively and positively with staff and customersExcellent communication and organizational skillsStrong attention to detail & ability to multitaskCustomer service-orientedMust be able to demonstrate a high level of initiativeValid driver's license and clear driving recordAble to perform extensive manual laborAbility to lift 60+ lbs. on your ownAbility to lift and bend frequentlyAbility to stand for long periods of timeHours: Monday – Saturday, 7:30 am – 4:00 pm. Flexibility in scheduling is preferredMust be available to work weekends and holidays as neededFollow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)Coordinate all facets of services (internally and externally)Work ConditionsWork may be performed both indoors and outdoors, regardless of weather conditions; cemetery personnel may have exposure to chemicals and equipmentPersonal safety equipment or appropriate attire may be required for the cemetery or crematory environment.
