About the OrganizationDescriptionMail Inserter OperatorDepartment: Direct Mail / ProductionReports To: Mail Department ManagerFLSA Status: Non-ExemptLocation: Onsite - Production FacilityPosition SummaryThe Mail Inserter Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining the FlowMaster high-speed mail inserting machine within the Direct Mail department. This position ensures mail campaigns are produced accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with customer specifications and USPS regulations. The Mail Inserter Operator plays a key role in maintaining workflow, minimizing downtime, and ensuring quality control throughout the inserting process. This role requires strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.Key ResponsibilitiesMachine OperationSet up and operate the FlowMaster inserting machine according to job specificationsReview job tickets to verify correct materials, inserts, envelopes, and data filesLoad materials and ensure proper alignment and sequencingMonitor machine performance and adjust settings as neededPerform routine machine maintenance and cleaningProduction & WorkflowEnsure jobs are completed according to daily production schedulesMaintain steady throughput while meeting quality standardsCommunicate job status and potential delays to supervisorsCoordinate with upstream departments (print, bindery, data processing) to ensure readiness of materialsQuality Control & ComplianceConduct quality checks throughout production runsVerify proper matching, inserting, sealing, and addressingEnsure compliance with USPS regulations and customer requirementsDocument production counts, spoilage, and job completion detailsTroubleshootingIdentify and resolve minor mechanical or material issuesEscalate maintenance needs when necessaryMinimize downtime through proactive monitoring and adjustmentsQualifications2+ years of experience in direct mail, inserting, or related production environmentExperience operating high-speed mail inserter equipment preferredStrong understanding of mail flow, matching logic, and USPS standardsMechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilityAbility to read and interpret job tickets and production documentationStrong organizational and time management skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentAbility to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periodsAbout DupliDupli is one of the largest and most diverse privately held printers in the U.S., offering a wide range of services including envelope printing, commercial print, promotional products, apparel, direct mail, and fulfillment.
