CNC Milling Cell Lead — Hands-On Production and Operator Development
It’s 7:30 AM in Pennsauken, NJ. The floor is cool and quiet in our climate‑controlled 18,000 sq. ft. facility. A new custom job hits the cell: complex geometry, strict GD&T, and unforgiving tolerances. You review the print, map the workholding and tooling strategy, program the path in CAM, and bring a Haas VMC to life. The first‑article measures dead‑on with micrometers and gauges. Then you hand the station to an operator—coaching the setup steps and the changeover checklist—before tuning feeds, speeds, and offsets to lock in repeatability. If that scenario sounds like a good morning, you’ll thrive as our CNC Milling Cell Lead at Werko Machine Company. We’re increasing capacity across custom and high‑precision projects and need a hands‑on leader who can elevate programming, setup, and people on the shop floor.Core responsibilitiesProgram, set up, and operate Haas 3–4 axis VMCsInterpret blueprints, drawings, and GD&T; convert them into robust machining plansChoose workholding and tooling; define the machining sequenceRun first‑article and in‑process inspections with calipers, micrometers, and precision gaugesHold tight tolerances and resolve issues quickly by adjusting offsets, feeds, and speedsGuide operators through setups, changeovers, and continuous improvementsSupport production scheduling and keep workflow steadyMaintain high standards of communication and shop organizationThis is a floor‑forward leadership role—not a sit‑and‑program position. Background we valueStrong troubleshooting skillsCNC programming experienceProven CNC machine setup & changeover abilityExperience with multi‑axis CNC equipment (preferred)Comfort with CAD/CAM softwareTrack record in custom or high‑precision manufacturingLarge horizontal boring mill know‑how is a plusSchedule and compensationMonday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM$34 – 38 per hourPension plan / 401 KLife Insurance2 weeks PTO + sick leaveTech stackCNC Mill (3–4 axis VMC) — HaasCAM — Autodesk Fusion 360
