This role is central to building strong, motivated teams that connect directly with voters, mobilize support, and drive a high-impact turnout operation in upcoming elections.We are seeking Field Directors to help lead our field operations and voter engagement efforts. This campaign is centered on empowering citizens to make their voices heard and creating meaningful change in our democracy. Voter contact is a crucial step to building political power in our communities and ensuring that every voice is heard.We are hiring for Lead Director and Field Director positions. Field Directors will recruit, train, and manage a team of local canvassers who will engage voters. Additionally, the Lead Director will manage a team of one or more Field Directors and will be responsible for building an office to scale from the ground up.The Field Director is expected to go into the field themselves multiple days per week to canvass, train staff, and lead by example. They must also communicate long and short term goals to staff and manage campaign reporting. The Field Director manages canvassers and Team Leads and reports to the Lead Director. The Lead Director reports to the Project Director.We are hiring immediately. This position will run through upcoming elections.Locations: Los Angeles and Orange County, CaliforniaManagement ResponsibilitiesWork with our recruitment team to find and hire members of the community to work as canvassers and engage votersManage a team of 20-50 paid canvassers, setting and driving goals along the wayImplement safety protocolDevelop and execute strategic plans to reach targeted voters effectivelyCoordinate canvassing sites for your staff, and work with partner groups to avoid overlapping efforts in the fieldGo out in the field yourself multiple days per week to canvass, train staff, and drive office goalsBuild a diverse team where staff feel respected while fostering a culture of equity and justiceImplement rigorous quality control measures to ensure message accuracy and data integrityMaintain a safe and positive working environment for all staffTrain and provide ongoing motivation and support to staffIdentify, promote, and develop leadership within the team to maximize impactHold staff accountable to performance metrics and standardsAdministrative ResponsibilitiesHandle administrative tasks, including daily data reporting, payroll processing, and inventory managementSet voter contact goalsRecording and reporting on office performanceTracking and monitoring campaign expensesMaintain accurate inventory of office materials and overall office organizationManage staff scheduleQualificationsMust have:Leadership experience, ability to motivate, grow, and manage a large teamEagerness to lead from the front, get into the field and canvass multiple days a weekExperience leading, motivating, and managing large teams in a fast-paced settingExtreme attention to detail and a proven ability to instill that quality in othersSelf-starter with excellent problem-solving skillsStrong passion for community organizing and empowering votersCommitment to equity, inclusion, and social justiceAbility to work long hours, including evenings and weekendsNice-to-haveExperience managing paid canvasses or teams of paid employeesManagement experienceExperience working with diverse communities, marginalized populations and/or underrepresented populationsStrong facilitation and training experienceFamiliarity with voter engagement tools such as VAN and MiniVANLocal ties to the areaSalaryThe salary range for this position is $1,352 - $1,575 per week, based on experience. We offer a generous benefits package, including paid vacation and sick leave, health insurance, and hands-on training.
