Primary Function:
Paints surfaces of metal manufactured products by applying knowledge of surface preparation and powder coat painting techniques
Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Sands and prepares parts for powder coat application approximately 4 hours daily
Sprays specified amount of thickness of powder coat to products on assembly line prior to heat being introduced
May need to regulate controls on equipment to ensure adequate amount of powder flowing
Inspect each product as painted for quality of coating
May operate lifting and moving devices to move materials and equipment
Always wears appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, face masks and other items deemed necessary by management
Adheres to department attendance policy
All other duties assigned by management
Skills:
Excellent interpersonal communication skills
Leadership qualities and interpersonal communication skills required
Must be able to distinguish between product manufactured, blasted and painted (i.e. a grill guard, replacement front end, back bumper, headache rack, etc.)
Qualifications:
Ability to visually inspect product and apply appropriate amounts of powder coat product for quality finish
Must pass respiratory fit and pulmonary function tests
Must be able to safely operate a forklift
Physical Requirements:
Extended periods of sitting and/or walking (33% - 75% of time)
Stooping, bending, twisting, leaning (10% - 25% of time)
Lifting up to 40 lbs. occasionally (0% - 33% of time)

Loud Environments
Extreme heat or cold (weather-related)
Wet or humid conditions (weather-related)
