REQ # 36000074POSITION TITLE: CLINICIAN II / CLINICIAN IIIGENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES: This is a FLSA non-exempt Opioid Abatement Authority (OAA) grant funded position and employment is contingent upon continued grant support. The incumbent will work with Project Link and Blue Ridge Center teams to provide counseling, education, outreach, and rehabilitation services to adults diagnosed with substance use disorders and/or co-occurring mental health disorders. The incumbent must be comfortable serving a diverse group of clients, including but not limited to, those who use Opioids, and other illicit substances, those with serious mental health diagnoses, those who are court-ordered and involved in the criminal justice system, and clients who can be hard to reach/engage due to their high level of need. The incumbent should be comfortable working from a strengths-based, person-centered perspective, in order to identify and develop the client's individual strengths.In carrying out the responsibilities of this position, the treatment provider reports to and receives general supervision from the Director of SUD Services and Director of Blue Ridge Center. The incumbent is expected to exercise sound judgment, demonstrate initiative and maintain confidentiality in accordance with established policies and procedures. He/she is expected to perform all duties in accordance with applicable professional ethics state quality assurance standards Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) regulations, as well as established Region Ten policies and proceduresQUALIFICATIONS: Incumbent must complete DBHDS training to become a Certified Prescreener, and will maintain this credential. Computer knowledge required in Word and Excel.EDUCATION:• A Master's degree is required; preferably in an applicable field, such as clinical mental health counseling, addiction counseling, or social work.CLINCIAN I:• Bachelor' s degree, QMHP• Master's degree in license eligible field but not yet license eligible as defined by Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS)• Masters in non-license eligible field• PH.D in non-licensure eligible field• Other non-related degreesCLINCIAN II• Master's degree and license eligible according the DHP definition:• Master's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, substance abuse, or marriage and family therapy from an accredited college or university:• Education verified by an official transcript with conferral date• Evidence you have had an intern or practicum of at least 500 hours of experience with persons who have a mental illness. (Verification of Internship/Practicum for QMHP form)• Is under the direct personal supervision of a person licensed under Virginia law, who is working towards licensure, and who is in compliance with the appropriate Virginia licensing board may perform the functions of the LMHP for purposes of Medicaidreimbursement. The Board of Health Professions refers to masters prepared individuals in Counseling and Psychology as "Resident". The Board of Health Professions refers to masters prepared individuals in social work as "Supervisee". For purposes of Medicaidreimbursement, these persons shall use LMHP-E after their signatures to indicate this status. Additionally, a person who can register within six months of hire. In thiscase, a newly hired clinician's continued employment is contingent on meeting the definition above within 6 months of hire.CLINICIAN III• Licensed clinicians as one of the following:• Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)• Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)• Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)• Clinical PsychologistsEXPERIENCE:• Preferred 1-year experience working with adults diagnosed with mental health or substance use disorders.CERTIFICATION/LICENSE:• Candidates must be able to seek supervision for licensure from the Virginia Board of Health Professions as either an LCSW or LPC or hold a current LCSW/LPC License.• All candidates must have a license in a human services field and/or be eligible to obtain one of these professional certifications or licenses within two years of employment.• To ensure the safe and efficient operation of the program, a valid Virginia Driver's License plus an acceptable driving record as issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles are required.
