Contract – Linux AdministrationRate: OpenLocation: Chicago, IL (local candidates only)Hybrid: 3 days onsite, 2 days remoteDuration: 6 monthsQualifications5+ years of experience in Linux system administration (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu)Strong knowledge of server deployment and configuration managementExpertise in patch management and system upgrade proceduresProven troubleshooting skills for Linux systems and applicationsExperience with AWS cloud services and infrastructure managementExperience with AnsibleKnowledge of vulnerability assessment tools and remediation techniquesExperience using ServiceNow for incident management, change management, and workflowsFamiliarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, KVM, etc.)Working knowledge of networking concepts and security principlesScripting skills in Bash/ksh, Python, or other relevant languagesPreferredExperience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practicesExperience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)ResponsibilitiesDeploy, configure, and maintain Linux servers in both physical, virtual, and AWS cloud environmentsImplement and manage automated server provisioning using Ansible and other automation toolsPlan and execute regular system patches and upgrades to ensure security and performanceDesign and implement AWS infrastructure following best practices and cost optimization strategiesManage AWS services including EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, RDS, and other relevant servicesIdentify, assess, and remediate vulnerabilities within Linux systems and applicationsConduct regular review of vulnerability scans reports and implement remediation strategiesKnowledge of creating content views and managing lifecycle environments in Red Hat SatelliteCreate and manage JIRA, ServiceNow tickets, workflows, and change management processesMonitor system health, performance, and capacity, taking proactive measures to prevent issuesTroubleshoot and resolve complex server issues in a timely mannerImplement security best practices and ensure compliance with organizational policies
