The Structural Engineering Professional will support the structural design and analysis of engineering projects as an integral member of the design team. This role will work closely with Structural Leads, Structural Engineers, Structural Designers, and other disciplines to develop design concepts, perform structural analysis and design, and communicate structural requirements through drawings, models, and design documents.The ideal candidate is building a strong foundation in structural engineering fundamentals and developing experience across multiple areas of structural design. The position offers opportunities for increasing responsibility, technical development, and career growth based on performance and initiative.ResponsibilitiesPerform conventional structural engineering analysis and design under general supervision.Develop and apply engineering judgment in the evaluation, selection, and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.Apply principles and practices of lateral analysis and design, including wind and seismic design, in accordance with applicable building codes.Develop strong engineering judgment, problem-solving skills, and technical decision-making abilities.Collaborate with structural engineers, designers, and other disciplines to coordinate structural requirements.Review and check structural calculations and other engineers' work for accuracy and quality.Maintain a high level of attention to detail and perform thorough self-checks of assigned work.Take ownership of assigned portions of the structural scope and deliver work in accordance with project schedule, budget, and quality requirements.Manage workload effectively, meet commitments, and communicate progress and potential issues.Define scope and develop an understanding of the level of effort required to complete assigned work.Identify potential scope changes and communicate them to the Structural Lead.Recognize when additional guidance is needed and proactively seek support from peers and senior engineers.Complete work in a timely, accurate, and cost-effective manner.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, with an emphasis in Structural Engineering.Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.Minimum 2 years of structural engineering experience.Working knowledge of U.S. building codes and standards, including:International Building Code (IBC), ASCE 7, ACI, AISCStrong written and verbal communication skills.Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.Preferred SkillsMaster's degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering, or a Master's degree in Structural Engineering.Experience with structural engineering and design software such as STAAD, Navisworks, and Bluebeam.Experience designing and analyzing steel and concrete structures.Experience working on semiconductor manufacturing facilities or other industrial facilities.Ability to participate in field walks and site visits as needed. While not common, this may involve climbing ladders, accessing areas beneath raised access floors, and walking or standing for extended periods.
