AWS Cloud Engineer Contract type: Freelance/B2BLocation: Remote BackgroundThis role sits within a global energy company, forming part of an engagement supporting an internal customer. We're looking for someone who can design, build, and operate cloud-native solutions on AWS, with strong backend development and CI/CD skills.How You'll Make an ImpactDesign, deploy, and operate cloud-native solutions across AWS services (Lambda, API Gateway, S3, Step Functions, ECS, CloudFront, Route 53)Build and maintain infrastructure using AWS CDK or similar IaC toolsDesign and develop RESTful APIs using FastAPI or FlaskImplement API best practices, including CORS, authentication/authorization, validation, and versioningBuild, maintain, and optimise GitLab CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment workflowsWhat You BringHands-on experience with AWS Lambda, API Gateway, S3, Step Functions, ECS, CloudFront, and Route 53Strong Python development experienceExperience working with Snowflake in a production environmentStrong experience with AWS CDK or similar IaC tools (CloudFormation, Terraform)Solid experience building RESTful APIs with FastAPI or FlaskProven experience with GitLab CI/CD pipeline development and optimisation
