CNC Maintenance Technician
PARATECH is a manufacturer headquartered in the United States, with offices in Europe and distributors around the world. The factory, located in Frankfort, Illinois is fully CNC equipped with extensive molding capabilities. All PARATECH products are designed by PARATECH engineers and all processes that include milling, turning, rubber molding and assembly are performed at the facility in Frankfort, Illinois. PARATECH manufactures an ever-increasing number of emergency service, industrial and law enforcement products. Our specialty is tools for technical rescue, but our expertise doesn't stop there. PARATECH products have far-ranging applications that extend to shipboard damage control, pipeline, mining, rail, quarries, vehicle maintenance, and recovery - just to name a few.
The CNC Technician is responsible for executing Corrective Maintenance (Repairs) & Preventive Maintenance Procedures as well to support the Continuous Improvement Initiatives to guarantee Equipment Reliability. Always working efficiently following the Safety requirements to achieve Maintenance Indicators (Downtime, Preventive Maintenance Attained, PM Scripts Revision), Root Cause Analysis with countermeasures, Participate in New Equipment Installation, Troubleshooting (Mechanical, Electrical, Control).
Primary duties:
· Perform routine and preventive maintenance and inspections on all factory equipment/machinery including CNC, mills and lathes.
· Read and interpret schematics, blueprints and technical manuals.
· Install, test and commission of new equipment.
· Document all service activities, including parts used and labor hours.
· Wiring control systems including 480v/102v/24v power, drives, motors, I/O and sensors.
· Installing, parametrizing and troubleshooting variable frequency drives and PLC’s.
· Troubleshooting and repair of hydraulic, pneumatic and general and complex mechanical systems.
· Monitor and maintain purchase and inventory of all maintenance supplies, hardware, tools and parts.
Core Competencies:
· Experience with Fanuc and Mazak control systems
· Assessing electrical process and procedures
· Installing and maintaining electrical systems, equipment and devices.
· Installing conduits, cables and tubing.
· Repairing wiring systems.
· Testing equipment (motors, drives, VFD’s) and components (sensors, valves, relays).
· Knowledge of PLC’s
· Experience in electrical, machine controls and mechanical field on automated equipment.
· Must be able to be forklift certified.
Physical Requirements:
· Performing work from various heights
· Ability to work in high elevations (climbing ladders, scaffolding, scissor lift and stairs)
· Ability to kneel, bend, climb and work in restricted spaces.
· Walk and stand for long periods of time.
· Lift up to 50 lbs.
Skills and Knowledge:
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Five (5) years related experience in general mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, PLC and relevant applications.
· Two (2) to five (5) years of experience as a CNC maintenance mechanic.
· Proficiency in simple fabrication and welding.
· Perform any reasonable task as requested by your supervisor.
