Staff Accountant

Fort Lauderdale United FC is a growing multi-sport platform, and as Staff Accountant, you are responsible for supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the organization. This role performs a variety of accounting tasks including general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting. Our ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and eager to grow within a collaborative finance team.This position entails key responsibilities within general ledger & journal entries, account reconciliation, accounts payable & receivable support, financial reporting, compliance & controls, along with additional duties. Your key responsibilities would include, but are not limited to:- Prepare and post daily, weekly, and monthly journal entries and maintain accurate general ledger accounts- Support month-end/year-end close, including accruals and deferrals, and perform bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations- Resolve discrepancies, maintain key account schedules, and process invoices, expenses, and payments- Assist with billing, collections, and cash application, and monitor aging reports and follow up on outstanding items- Assist with financial statements and management reporting, and support audits and prepare required schedulesWhat we’re looking for:- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related- 1-3 years of accounting experience- Solid understanding of GAAP principles, etc- Fluent in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas)- Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage)- Strong attention to detail and high accuracy- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentPreferred:- CPA candidate or active pursuit of CPA licensure- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics)- Knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processes- Experience in our industrySend your resume, cover letter, and any additional information to tommy@ftlutd.com — Subject Line: Budget & Financial Analyst - [Your Name]
