Account Clerk

An employee in this classification performs routine accounting work in the maintenance of varied accounting records and accounts, including processing fares, creating bank deposits; performs other related duties as assigned. Under direction from the Finance Manager or Finance Supervisor, an employee in this classification is responsible for maintaining accounting records and accurately recording the financial transactions of the Agency. Employees usually work with a considerable degree of independence on routine operations. The work is subject to periodic review for mathematical and procedural accuracy.
