General SummaryThe Peer Recovery Coach provides non-clinical services intended to aid patients inestablishing recovery from high risk of dependent alcohol and drug use problems. ThePeer Recovery Coach will work as part of the Emergency Department team to providepeer support and motivation to encourage patients who are seeking treatment foralcohol or drug dependency and addiction issues. The Peer Recovery Coach will assistin completing referrals to treatment services and developing service plans to promotesuccessful linkage to treatment services. Services will be provided in the EmergencyDepartment with appropriate follow-up.Education/Experience RequiredHigh school diploma or G.E.D. required.Basic computer skills required.Must be able to read, interpret documents and write routine reports.Three (3) years of personal recovery and sustained abstinence from alcohol and/or drug use required.Must possess excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills.Demonstrated ability to work with detailed information.Strong interpersonal skills in order to effectively communicate with patients and employees.Must have a willingness to learn and acquire new skills.Additional InformationOrganization: Behavioral ServicesDepartment: Maple GroveShift: Evening JobUnion Code: Not Applicable
