Export Manager Location: Chicago, ILIndustry: Freight Forwarding & LogisticsSystem: CargoWiseOverviewWe are seeking an experienced Export Manager on behalf of a large global freight forwarder to lead and support our export operations team while remaining actively involved in day-to-day freight forwarding activities. The successful candidate will oversee export shipments, ensure operational excellence, maintain customer satisfaction, and drive team performance using CargoWise.Key ResponsibilitiesManage and develop a team of Export Coordinators.Oversee daily air and ocean export operations from booking through final departure and destination handoff.Handle key customer accounts and support complex shipments when required.Ensure accurate shipment processing, export compliance, and documentation.Monitor KPIs, workflow, and service levels to meet customer expectations.Act as the primary escalation point for operational and customer issues.Coordinate with customers, overseas agents, carriers, warehouses, and trucking providers.Ensure accurate job costing, billing, and data integrity within CargoWise.Manage export documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, airway bills, and AES filings.Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and service quality.Requirements5+ years of export freight forwarding experience.Previous supervisory or management experience preferred.Strong knowledge of air freight, ocean freight, export regulations, and U.S. export compliance requirements.Hands-on experience with CargoWise.Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Key SkillsExport Operations ManagementTeam LeadershipCargoWiseCustomer ServiceExport ComplianceAir & Ocean FreightAES FilingProcess ImprovementStakeholder Management
