Compounding Pharmacist
Do you have experience as a Compounding Pharmacist?? We are looking for an experienced Pharmacist to help lead our growing team! Come experience our closed-door Pharmacy with Hospice, LTC, and Compounding Specialties and a big purpose!
Purpose:
Dispense, check, and counsel on medications, work with and lead pharmacy Technicians and staff to execute all day-to-day requirements of running the Compounding Lab and Pharmacy.
Schedule:
Regular Pharmacy hours (9am-6pm) 5 days a week. May have additional shift coverage options if desired.
Experience/Education:
Doctor of Pharmacy Degree and current Pharmacist License (must be in good standing)
Experience with USP 795 and 797
Board Certification Sterile Compounding Pharmacist
Essential Functions:
Assist Pharmacist in Charge with all daily functions of running the pharmacy
Oversee and assist as needed with our Sterile/Non-sterile Compounding programs including leading the team of Compounding Technicians
Answer all phone calls during on-call hours, answer questions, log into pharmacy software remotely to investigate answers as needed
Come in to pharmacy to fill medications as needed and coordinate with on-call delivery driver.
Accept and dispense prescription medications
Provide consultation on prescription and non-prescriptions for storage, dosage, side effects, and drug interactions.
Assays medications to determine identity, purity, and strength.
Provide advice on otc medications to treat common illnesses such as flu, cold sores, or headaches.
Educate patients on proper handling of medical devices such as ambulatory infusion pumps.
Identify patient’s drug related problems and effectively communicate with physicians and other healthcare practitioners
Work in conjunction with physicians, nurses, other pharmacists, pharmacy interns, etc.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand for up to 10 hours.
Must be able to lift and push or pull up to 50lbs.
Pick and pinch small tablets with fingers, and seize, hold, grasp or turn objects with hands.
Perceive the size, shape, temperature, or texture of objects by touching with fingertips.
See objects at close vision and be able to identify and distinguish colors.
