Beckhoff Automation Controls Engineer
Your JobMolex is seeking an Automation Controls Engineer to support and advance automated manufacturing systems at our Maumelle, Arkansas facility. In this role, you will design, develop, troubleshoot, and optimize control systems that improve safety, quality, and productivity across our manufacturing operations. You will work closely with manufacturing, maintenance, quality, and engineering teams to deliver reliable and scalable automation solutions.What You Will DoDesign, develop, and maintain PLC-based control systems for manufacturing equipment and automated processesTroubleshoot and resolve controls, electrical, and automation issues to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliabilitySupport new equipment installations, upgrades, and commissioning, including factory and site acceptance testingDevelop and maintain control system documentation, including schematics, I/O lists, and programming standardsCollaborate with cross-functional teams (manufacturing, maintenance, quality, safety) to implement process improvementsSupport continuous improvement initiatives related to automation, cycle time reduction, scrap reduction, and safetyEnsure control systems comply with safety standards, electrical codes, and Molex engineering standardsProvide technical support and training to maintenance and operations personnel as neededSupport new equipment installations, upgrades and commissioning, including factory and site acceptance testing at Molex productions globallyWho You Are (Basic Qualifications)Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related fieldWilling to travel up to 15% domestically and internationallyMinimum of 3 years of experience in controls or automation engineering within a manufacturing environmentHands-on experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting with Beckhoff-TwinCATExperience with Object Oriented Programing, Ladder Logic and Structured TextExperience with HMI development, industrial networks, and I/O systemsExperience reading and interpreting electrical schematics and technical documentationPlease note that this role requires Beckhoff-TwinCAT experienceWhat Will Put You AheadExperience supporting high-volume or discrete manufacturing operationsPrograming experience with robotics, vision systems, VFDs, servos, and Interpolated motion control (Camming, Gearing)Experience with safety PLCs, machine safety standards, and risk assessmentsKnowledge of continuous improvement, Lean, or Six Sigma methodologiesExperience working cross-functionally with maintenance and production teamsAt Koch companies, we are entrepreneurs.
