We are currently seeking Mechanical Engineers who want to grow and learn while providing analytical support for consulting and development projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Demonstrates and applies knowledge of fundamental engineering principals and advanced problem solving
Demonstrates knowledge and skills in evaluation and design of pressure vessels, piping, and tanks.
Develops and applies knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards.
Demonstrates experience with analytical software and validation of results, technical report writing, computer programming and data handling.
Performs Fitness-for-Service (FFS) assessments of existing equipment using API 579 Fitness-for-Service.
Performs ASME and API Code calculations for pressure equipment, in support of design reviews, certification and re-rates of existing equipment.
Performs Finite Element modeling and stress analysis to support FFS evaluations, failure investigations, new equipment design and repairs.
Develops and demonstrates a good understanding of oil refinery processes and applicable damage mechanisms.
Provides analyst and review support to engineering team members on consulting projects.
Assists with proposal development and consulting projects under the oversight of more senior engineers.
Demonstrates initiative and technical capability to support expedited client requests and emergency/rush projects.
Demonstrates capability to provide field support for client needs
Demonstrates ability to seek solutions beyond prescriptive step-by-step procedures.
Demonstrates the ability to draw appropriate conclusions and provide practical recommendations in technical reports.
Demonstrates commitment to work as a team and facilitates teamwork and collaboration within and across business unit lines.
Provides engineering support to other groups at Equity.
Co-authors technical reports and/or bulletins for use by staff or customers.
Communication Skills
Possesses strong oral and written communication skills. Engineers are expected to successfully communicate with clarity and precision.
Asks questions to discover internal and external client business needs and responds promptly to those needs.
Consistently demonstrates technical report writing skills.

Education/Training
Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology, Inc. recognized program.
Credit will be given for prior professional experience and advanced degrees.
Licensure and Certification
Engineer in Training; Professional Engineer certification recommended.
Professional Activities Member of professional practice organization (ASME, API, NACE, etc.), national Board member or officer, national technical or policy committee member.
Business Development
Develop/maintain relationships with client personnel
Ability to assist with conference presentations
Stay updated on developments that may affect our clients or Equity.
Assist in development and instruction of an external training course with a more senior engineer.
Further your knowledge about our clients' businesses
