Job Description Truck Driver Class A ResponsibilitiesInspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenancePlan routes and meet delivery schedulesComply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and proceduresManeuver trucks into loading or unloading positionsCollect and verify delivery instructionsReport defects, accidents or violationsDelivering merchandise via tractor-trailerLoading and unloading productMaintaining daily log and keeping all paperwork organized.Attention to detail and ensuring all product is accounted for.Filling up on fuel, and clean truck as required and neededReport any incidents to the Traffic Manager that are encountered on or off the road.Inspecting the trailer before and after the trip, and record any defects.Keep the truck, and associated equipment, clean and in good working order.Must have an open schedule and be able to work as needed.RequirementsApplicant must have a minimum of 3 years experience driving as a CDL Class A driver.CDL Class A driver’s license must be in good standing.Hands on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL units, CB etc).Medical DOT Card must be up to date and active.Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly.Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations.No recent moving or driving violations.Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, etc.).Ability to communicate effectively and follow direction.Must be self-motivated, a team-player with excellent interpersonal skills; ability to maintain positive customer relations and act courteous and respectful toward others.Ability to work with minimum supervision and recognize matters needing attention.Benefit ConditionsWaiting period may applyOnly full-time employees eligibleCOVID-19 Precaution(s)Sanitizing, disinfecting, or cleaning procedures in placeThis Job IsOpen to applicants who do not have a high school diploma/GEDA job for which all ages, including older job seekers, are encouraged to applyOpen to applicants who do not have a college diplomaTrucking Freight HandlingUsing pallet jack/forkliftType Of FreightReeferTrucking RouteTristate areaWork RemotelyNoJob Type: Full-timePay: $24.15 per hour
