Veteran Independence Program Advisor

$20-$24/hr | 30 Hours Weekly | Full-Time (Non-Exempt)Orange & Los Angeles County | Travel RequiredWe are seeking a compassionate and organized Veteran Independence Program (VIP) Advisor to support Veterans through the Veteran Directed Care (VDC) program. This position works closely with the VA and community partners to help Veterans access services, manage care plans, and maintain independence.Key ResponsibilitiesManage a caseload of ~45 Veterans.Complete ADL assessments to determine functional needs.Help Veterans create support plans, spending plans, and budgets.Assist Veterans with hiring, training, and supervising caregivers.Ensure Veterans remain in control of their services and decisions.Conduct quarterly in-person visits and in-person intakes for new participants.Support Veterans with purchasing services/items needed for independent living.Maintain communication with the VA and partnering agencies.Collaborate with community and military resources.Keep accurate, timely, confidential case documentation (HIPAA compliant).Work with Fiscal Management Services on timesheets, payments, and budgets.Assist with billing and fee collection.Travel up to 60% within Orange and LA County.Support office operations and adapt to changing priorities.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree required.2+ years working with Veterans, older adults, or individuals with disabilities (or equivalent experience).Strong organizational and decision-making skills.Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.Knowledge of ADA, Rehabilitation Act, and Fair Housing Act (or willingness to learn).Experience with budgeting and maintaining records.Proficient with MS Office, Google Suite, and computer applications.Reliable transportation with valid license/insurance.Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.Personal AttributesClear, respectful communicator.Professional, ethical, and dependable.Strong follow-through and time management.Collaborative and team-oriented.Comfortable giving and receiving feedback.Work EnvironmentOffice-based with regular travel.Computer work, phone communication, and light lifting up to 10 lbs.Reasonable accommodations available.Join us to make a meaningful impact and help Veterans live independently in their communities.
