This position is located at our Astria Sunnyside Hospital.Shift information will be provided during the interview.What you get to do every day!As the Polysomnographic Technician Registered you are responsible for the accurate and timely performance of diagnostic testing in relation to sleep related diseases. The technician is responsible to perform overnight polysomnographic monitoring on adult patients, as well as reviewing and scoring of completed polysomnograms. A Polysomnographic Technician can provide oversight of a Polysomnographic Trainee. This is a technical position functioning independently with limited supervision. You will:Responsible for the setup, monitoring, and analysis of sleep studies in providing detailed reports to assist healthcare providers in diagnosing and treating sleep disorders.Conduct overnight sleep studies using polysomnographic equipment including EEG, ECG, EMG, and other diagnostic tools.Set up and calibrate sleep study equipment, ensuring proper placement of sensors and electrodes to monitor patient sleep patterns and physiological functions.Monitor patients throughout sleep studies, observing and documenting sleep stages, respiratory patterns and other physiological data.Assist patients in preparing for sleep studies, explaining the process, and addressing any concerns regarding the study.Perform preventive maintenance procedures on all Sleep Lab equipment.Perform sleep staging and cardiorespiratory event scoring procedures when required.Performs other duties as assignedCollaborate effectively across organizational boundaries.Adheres to the core values and standards of the organization.RequirementsRegistered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) or Certified Polysomnographic Technologist (CPSGT).Current BLS CertificationOral and written fluency in the English language.Preferred Qualifications and Education.Three years of experience in a Sleep Center performing Sleep Study Testing.Bachelor's DegreeOral and written fluency in the Spanish language
