Production Supervisor
Title: Production Supervisor**Reports to: Plant ManagerJob Purpose: Ultimately responsible for the day-to-day departmental operations.Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:Lead set up and changeover activity on machinery Support and monitor production activity to ensure operators are following standard work instructions and are meeting quality specificationsAudit compliance with standard work instructions and process control plans to ensure production of good parts.Maintain and audit production information within the company's ERP systemMaintain production related documents and logs to ensure availability and accuracy.Monitor production activity to ensure it is aligned with customer demand and corporate inventory goals.Lead department scheduling effortsReview un-planned scrap with employees to identify root cause and implement effective countermeasures.Oversee the professional development and periodic evaluation of direct reports.Identify employee development opportunities and enlist appropriate corporate personnel to assist in construction and implementation of training programs that are comprehensive and regularly reinforced.Periodically evaluate staffing levels to ensure human resources are adequate and properly positioned to support current and future production requirements.Champion the area’s safety program and coordinate statutory training and compliance.Promote Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques in all manufacturing and administrative processes.Assist in the development and implementation of visual factory tools and continually monitor their effectiveness.Actively solicit suggestions and exploit the experience of employees to develop and implement product and process improvements.Ensure activities meet with and integrate with organizational requirements for quality management, health and safety, legal stipulations, environmental policies and general duty of careEnsure operational activities and management of equipment and materials are executed in a manner consistent with good stewardshipExecute all responsibilities according to lawful and ethical standards as established by company policies and proceduresPerform other duties as required or assigned****Qualifications:**High school diploma, GED¨NBSP;or equivalent professional experience3 years supervisory experience preferredPrevious experience in a manufacturing environment required (Metal stamping, fabrication, or fastener manufacturing preferred)Previous experience with standard shop tools and measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges,etc) requiredMechanical aptitude and previous experience troubleshooting machinery requiredAbility to lift 50 lbs and stand for long periods of timeAbility to use material handling equipment, including forkliftsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExperience with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Outlook, Excel) requiredAbility to handle and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentYou Should Be Proficient InLeadership / People ManagementEquipment TroubleshootingMechanical Troubleshooting SkillsStandard Operating Procedures (SOPs)Lean Manufacturing PrinciplesISO 9001 Certification ExperienceMetal Stamping & Forming (Progressive Die)Operational Metrics & KPI ManagementERP & MRP SystemsLockout/Tagout (LOTO)Scheduling ExperienceExcellent Communication SkillsExperience in a Manufacturing EnvironmentRoot Cause AnalysisBlueprint ReadingBasic Computer SkillsMachines & Technologies You'll UseStamping Press
