Technicians work in a team to assist guest artists, performance groups, and renters with lighting, sound, and set requirements, as assigned. Positions are also responsible for the supervision of the theater and technical equipment during performances, events, and rentals. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are a must for this fast-paced collaborative work environment.Familiarity with all of the following with a working knowledge in at least one is required:- professional audio mixing consoles and other audio equipment, such as microphones and speakers- theatre lighting consoles and equipment, as well as lighting design- theatre set construction or carpentryApplicants must be age 18 or older, with a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid North Carolina driver license, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.Work is performed under the general supervision of the Theatre Production Specialist. Scheduled work hours, including evenings and weekends, will fluctuate based on the employee's availability and skill set as well as the needs of scheduled performances, events, and rentals. Starting pay range is $12-$14 per hour, depending on skills and experience.
